When water meter on cluster is down the a/c doesn't work

does the problem come and go when you fill up? if so it is a evaporative emissions problem (air leak in the fuel vacuums system) if not, than i would probably say it was a fan clutch problem, trailblazers were bad about them going out, they are electric, not like they are electric cooling fans but they have wires running to it and the computer activates the fan clutch for the radiator fan. however if your vehicle was certified at a GM dealer, you have a 12 month warranty , even if the factory warranty is up on it, that is one of the perks of buying certified, that your dealer may not have told you about, i used to be a GM mechanic so i know how it worked. plus if you go in and make a big deal about how you just bought it and so on dealers are able to cover items like this under an extender warranty called GM goodfaith warranty which is available bumper to bumper up to 64,000 miles but its up to the service manager to allow it, so if you go in and make a big deal about it they will act like they are doing you a big favor by fixing it no charge, but it is an extra perk GM offers.

Is the theftlock light lit up on the dash? It it is you may have a problem with the GM manufacturer theftlock device. The Theftlock system prevents the vehicle from being started without its own key and shuts of the fuel injectors which is typically why it turns over but won't start. It's quite problematic on mine and locks the car so you have to replace the cylinder.

If the "Theft System" light is flashing on in the dash sit in the car with the key in the "On" position. When the light stops flashing it will light solid for a second then go out. Open and close the driver side door, turn the car off, turn and start the car. This resets the theft lock and I kid you not it works.

if this happens while the defrost of ac is turned on, it could be a seized ac compressor which will cause the serpentine belt to squeal and drag making the engine sometimes stall. if it happens with the ac off and the selector on say the floor, or dash vents, the issue could be a bad alternator and battery. this is confirmed when the blower motor engages and the lights dim and then the truck goes dead.
