the puddle lights on my subaru tribeca are supposed to go off after i push the lock button on the remote or just go off after a few seconds. the other day i noticed a burned smell coming from the dash, ever since, the puddle lights and the lower courtesy lights on the interior stay on all the time.

Rain puddles on my lanai

it is almost impossible to get concrete so level that water will not sit in small puddles after it sets
depending on the depth of the puddles you could top the concrete with an epoxy resin finish all over
if the low spots are small in size , maybe finishing with large tiles will be an answer
there are professional concrete surface finishers that can advise on the problem

Car; 97 Nissan 200sx manual transmission 1.6l 4 cylinder with no mods.. What happen; drover into puddle and car dies in puddle.. Pushed out of puddle then wouldn't start like no power dried off battery...

How deep was the puddle...? I'm almost thinking water got into distributor cap,or car's computer, perhaps Alternator,or some electrical part...just a guess, mind you.

2006 Jetta has interior floor lights that stay on even after locking the car, and the alarm does not beep when locking the door. What can I do to get these lights to turn off so the battery does not die?

the "puddle lights" should go out about the same time as the interior lights, after removing the key from the ignition,if not try an alarm/immobiliser system reset as per the book.

Anti-Lock Brale l;ight and Trac Light stay on....Brake pads were just replaced! When driving through puddled water, car looses power steering capability

ABS/Trac Lights are often caused by dirty or broken Wheel Speed Sensor circuits.

The water can get into the power steering belt pulley causing slippage which can result in the power steering loss.

I have a 2001 Grand Marque with 151437 miles on it and never had a problem with it. Recently I drove through a very large rain puddle and now my car sputters and accelerates slowly. Oh and the check engine...

It seems to me youre being taken for a ride, if the problem started when you drove over the water puddle then that means that some water go into a key component somehow, perhaps the fuel tank itself or an electrical component. I would stay away from that shop and try to replace the fuel in your vehicle, if its possible for you. also try to take it to autozone if you can, they wil plug the scanner to your vehicle and tell you why the engine light is on for FREE! Good Luck.
