It sounds like the idle speed is set too low, and it is taking the PCM a few moments to figure the correct setting. If the engine is new, or new to the vehicle, perhaps the engine idle speed setting is incorrectly set too low.

SOURCE: the belt that runs my alternator broke what is that belt called?

yes it is caused by your belt. now do not drive the vehicle at all until new belt is instaled. the belt is called a serpentine belt and it is the only one on the vehicle. it runs the power steering pump, your alternator, and your water pump. now keep in mind you temp gauge will not work untill it is to late because there is no colant bein sent threw your engine block. make sure to have some one put the belt on that has done it before because the belt can go a couple of different ways one the pullys but if it is not the right way your water pump could spin backwards and this will overheat your engine because the water is supposed to flow only one way due to the thermostat. so you will not gett any cooling. and i repeat do not drive car until the belt is replaced. and the correct way to route the new belt should be located under the hood on a diagram. i hope this information was helpfull to you. please rate my solution
Thank you

SOURCE: timing belt failure? 1997 chevy s10 2.2L 4 cyl.

hi bob, take off the oil filler cap, have someone crank the engine while you look inside, if the rockers are not moving, it is a broken or slipped belt, if the rockers are moving try a compression test to see if the problem is limited to one cylinder or all of them....does the sound of the engine cranking seem faster than normal? is there any noise (clanking/banging) while cranking? marty good luck let me know!

SOURCE: 2001 Elantra stall, loss of power. Driving at

I am having the exact same problem with my 2001 Hyundai Elantra. I was told that the engine code that comes up when the sensor is on is called "Absolute Pressure In The Manifold". I was told by a "Hyundai Specialist" that when that code comes up it usually means that the seal on the manifold is Fuct. When my mechanic checked that out for me he had noticed that my manifold had 4 cracks in it(can varify cause he showed me). He replaced the manifold and gasket. The car ran fine for about 2-3 days and since then the problem has since come back and my check engine light will no longer go on/off it only stays on. Because of the check engine light always staying on I have noticed that on many occasions my car will hiccup many times in a row. The only way to stop the hiccup I have noticed is to take my foot right of the gas for approx. 2-3 sec then car will continue without hiccup(till it happends all over again). All in all I have been having this problem now for approx. 1 year and if there is somehow someway it could be repaired I would appretiate it.

hi from uk may i suggest you recheck battery terminal leads are clean/secure? then check the negative lead from battery where it connects at the other end to the engine usually at point where engine and transmission connet? ensure this connection is also clean/secure ? also you may try this? turn engine manually by crankshaftpully half a turn if it starts ok ? without click ? you may have a bad spot of teeth at some point on ring gear on flywheel? and now and again engine stops at the point thatstarter locks on bad teeth and does not rotate hence the click ? by turning engine half turn will clear teth from starter pinion ?you may even hear/feel starter pinion free itself ?

For more info www.hmaservice.com ,sign up for free on the home page look for a tab labeled : shop. click on that. enter the year make and model, and start researching. this is the same info the dealer techs have access to. It has helped me greatly.

Fill up with gas

i had the same problem, you have to change the perge control valve, its on the back of the engine below where the plastic intake pipe meets the metal intake manifold on the back side of the engine between the engine block and the firewall, on the underside of your car hood you will see a vacume system diagram, it will illistrate where the valve is, it should cost about 30 bucks or so at a hyundai dealership
