Indicates problem ignition switch, bad ground for the battery
You did not mention make and model but if GM product they have a 12 year ongoing recall for ignition switches

Hi, I have the same problem on a 2003 PT Cruiser... I am still trying to figure it out what is the problem. I changed the Starter, because it was previously working bad, but it was not all the problem.

SOURCE: 01 Sebring convertible, AC was low on refrigerant,

First of all if your system was low on refrigerant there is a leak. You can recharge and exspect the air to work, how long it will last depends on the size of the leak.Somtimes the refrigerant can have a leak prevenative but this is for very small leaks. You need to have dye put in to system and use black light to find leak.they make kits at your local auto parts store that you can buy and do this your self.If you say it worked well for about 20 days, that is a fairly large leak. The reason why the compressor is acting so erractic is because the freon has oil in it and lubracates the bearings in compressor. When the system goes low the compressor will turn on and off to protect itself.Eventually it will stop running completly.Idont think you have an electrical problem,Ithink you have a big leak.Try what I said and good luck....Brian

SOURCE: car will start and cut right off

When it won't start you will need to check for spark and fuel pressure to figure out if you are dealing with the ignition system or fuel system.
Is the check engine light on when the engine is running ?

Auto Zone does not test the alternator under full load so the test result could be borderline.
start the car and turn everything on. If the voltage drops lower than 14.2
replace the alternator.
also the battery could be being drained overnight. to check use a test light by removing a battery terminal and connecting light between battery and cable with car off.
if it lights start be removing fuses.
when the light goes off the problem is with this circuit.
lastly if the light stays on take the wires off the alternator.
if the light goes out replace alternator.

HONDA BALLADE 160I CUTTING OUT AT 3500 RPM

The Nippon-Denzo Distributor's are known to have problems. I had the same issue for 3 months where it would cut out and sometimes, actually kill my car. Finally I spend the $200 and put a new Distributor in the car and it fixed my problems. there are 2 different Distributors for your car, make sure you get the right one or it will not work.

Motor cuts out then recovers

number of things can b causing this issue.. start by testing fuel pressure. must b 45-50psi and hold that pressure after u shut off truck. if pressure is not above 45 then replace fuel pump and filter.. faulty pumps dont cause a check engine light to come on. if pressure is with-in spec then check the wiring harness at pcm they are known for having an issue ....

1997 plymoth cuts off while driving, if i sit for some time it will restart and it wont happen again. most time it does. i have also noticed a dragging in tha gas pedal when i go over 40 mph. i have taken...

I would check the fuel pressure first it should be 49 psi. Also if you have another ignition key try using it awhile and see if the problem still exist. The ignition key lock cylinder could be worn out causing this problem.

Its cuts off completly after runnninng 20 min,but will crank back up only to cut off again and again and over until car has cooled down.

Check behind the distributor cap and see if the cam cover seal is leaking. When that seal leaks the car will drive fine til engine heats up the oil and it starts fouling out the distributor cap and rotor. When it cools down the oil hardens again and car run fine. I would start by looking there.

91 Le Sabre cuts off with no warning while driving. Have had several mechanics look at it with no solution.

Look at the ECM aka. the computer. If it has the numbers 1228253 on it this is what is wrong with it. Replace it with a new or used delco gm 16198264. This happened to my car and otherslike it. Your car is a 1991 right? Does it start right back up again after cutting off?
