My 4 wheel dive ESC and 4 low indicators won't turn off and my 4 wheel drive won't engage
Part time or awd ?
do no engage part time 4wd on dry pavement.!! only on ice or dirt.
do post what your tires are touching? dirt or pavement????????
if stuck in 4L , on dry pavement , pull over to side of road, dirt
then shift out. if no dirt anywhere? sand or gravel or grass.?
then jack up one wheel then deselect 4Low. back do 2WD

how you drive both cars, varies greatly.
in your glove box is an operators guide , did you read that yet
under how to drive in 4wd or awd.??????????

cool, looks like PT-4wd or AWD has failed. if AWD this is more complex., you need to know which option you have?. but no matter, it is failed. check fuses first. then scan it with an OBD2 scan tool to see if you have errors called DTCs. these can if fact ,pin point problems here.

If you engage the 4WD with a switch instead of manually, there is a motor in or on the transfer case. Because of the location, these can go bad.
u need to check all your switches and actuators there are actuators under vehicle that clog up with dirt.also try putting vehicle in neutral before engaging 4x4.

Sounds like the splines on your transfer case gear are ground down

you can also check the 4 wheel drive vacuum switch on top of the transfer case...got mine for 10 bucks from parts store...fixed the problem

Has this Jeep been modified at all?
It sounds like the shifter cable was reinstalled backwards.
Specifically the 4-Low "Not Climbing Well". 4-Low should give you the best torque and hill climbing ability.
Do you feel any "Binding" in the steering wheel (difficult to turn)?
Remember a Jeep uses real driveshafts and differentials to give you 4WD - you cannot engage 4WD or 4-Low on dry hard surfaces. It needs a little bit of slip between the wheels for turns.
Check you're fluids too.
