SOURCE: IAT MAP MAF pics & locations

Go to alldatadiy.com and buy the car you are working on and you will have access for a year. This should have mechanical illistrations of what you are looking for. By the way that car does not have a MAP sensor. It uses a mass air flow sensor. Hope this helps...Dan

SOURCE: installing chip and want to double check wiring. Need to find IAT/MAF sensor diagram for 2003 Ford Ranger

Save your money, the chip is a ohm resistor at Radio Shack for under $2.00. It splices in to you IAT wire harness located at the intake tube between the air filter housing and throttle body.
Problem with this system is, that you can not adjust anything and have to run a constant 91 octane just to make sure you do not have a Detonation. The ECM will catch the Detonation from the knock sensor and compensate for it by retarding the timing which in turn lose of HP till next start up.
If you like and don't mind the check engine light on once and awhile, you can do the same by just disconnecting the IAT wire harness which give the ECM a 0 resistance thinking it's -20 out side and turn the timing up and lengths the injector pules.
When i was running a Nitro in the Toy before i sold it, i had installed a 10K ohm Potentiometer which you can buy at radio shack for under $5.00 i believe, I just spliced it in to the IAC wire harness so if i wanted to play with the Nitro I'ld turn the resistor up making the engine think it's 185 degrees F and would ****** the timing so i would not hurt the engine. But if i wanted to get more timing i would just turn the knob to drop the resistance to get more time since the engine thinks it's -20 out side.
Hope this helps. Keep me posted if you need more info. Best thing is to do a dyno tune and you can change everything right down to the Shift points.

2005 ford taurus with a p0113 code saying high circuit

p0113 means you are getting a very high voltage reading from the IAT sensor to the ECU. Usually this is because the IAT has become faulty or bad. Replace and clear codes it should go away.

Which are the functional iat sensor wires on an accordd 2008

It all depends on which engine your Accord is equipped with. This is really nice-to-know information when you are asking somebody for help with your engine control circuits.

For the 2.4L engine: At the MAF/IAT sensor connector, Pin #4, GREEN/BLACK is the "sensor ground" and Pin #5, RED/YELLOW is the "sensor input" for the IAT.

For the 3.5L engine: At the MAF/IAT sensor connector, Pin #1 GREEN/YELLOW is the "sensor ground" and Pin #2 RED/YELLOW is the "sensor input" for the IAT.

Hi, I own a MB C230 Kompressor 1999 (123,ooo miles). Two days ago, check engine light came on. DTC was P0170 (fuel trim malfunction bank 1. I took out the MAF sensor and cleaned it using MAF sensor...

CODE PO170 - FUEL TRIM BANK 1 MALFUNCTION. POSSIBLE CAUSES TO YOUR PROBLEM. AIR LEAKS IN THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. EXHAUST PIPES OR EXHAUST MANIFOLD. FUEL CONTROL SENSOR IS OUT OF CALIBRATION ECT IAT MAF. LOW FUEL PUMP PRESSURE FUEL FILTER CLOGGED FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR FAULTY. ONE OR MORE INJECTORS RESTRICTED OR FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR FAILED. HO2S ELEMENT IS CONTAMINATED DETERIORATED OR HAS FAILED.LOOK FOR VACUUM HOSE DISCONNECTED BROKEN LEAKING OR LOOSE.CHECK THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT. SHOULD BE 4.8 - 5.2 VOLTS.IF SIGNAL CIRCUIT LOWER VOLTS LOOK FOR SHORT TO GROUND OR AN OPEN HIGH RESISTANCE IN CIRCUIT.IF YOU ARE 12 VOLTS FROM SIGNAL CIRCUIT PCM IS FAULTY.BEFORE SPENDING A LOT OF MONEY TAKE VECHICLE TO GARAGE OR DEALERSHIP.LET THEM TEST IAT AND MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR PARAMETER FOR THE CORRECT RANGE OR HZ USING A VARIABLE SIGNAL GENERATOR TO SEE IF IAT MAF SENSOR GOOD OR PCM FAULTY. THIS WAY YOU WONT SPEND TOO MUCH MONEY.

Where is the IAT sensor on a 03 Ford Taurus,3.0L. flex fuel?

You don't change parts when you get a code. The codes are a starting point for diagnostic testing.
Codes are the symptoms of a possible problem, such as an out of range or defective sensor. Codes don't mean you change something. It's not that simple or are vehicles designed as such. You always test, then replace. You can't do either, if you don't know the system your working on.
The MAF and IAT Sensors are both in the MAF,one piece in most cases.

What are your issues ? Not likely a MAF gone bad.
Do you have the air filter cover on tight and no duct work leaks or vacuum leaks? That's what's possibly setting the code for the MAF.

P0102 OBD-II Trouble Code - Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Low Input

What does that mean?
Basically this means that there is a problem with the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor or circuit. A more technical description would be that the MAF circuit had lower than expected voltage (air flow). Other MAF sensor circuit DTC trouble codes are P0100, P0101, P0103, and P0104.

Symptoms
You will likely not notice any serious drivability problems, although there may be symptoms such as a general decrease in power or sluggishness.

Causes
A code P0102 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* The MAF may be disconnected, or a wiring connection may be bad
* The MAF may be dirty or otherwise contaminated (Note: if you use a reusable oiled air filter, be careful not to apply too much oil or that can contaminate the MAF).
* The MAF sensor may be faulty
* The vehicle computer may be faulty (very rare)

Possible Solutions
The simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back. Then start with the cheapest, easiest repair procedures:
* Verify that the Mass Air Flow Sensor wiring is connected properly and that there are no broken / frayed wires.
* Inspect for any air leaks near the MAF sensor.
* Take the MAF out and clean it using a spray cleaner such as brake cleaner or electrical contact cleaner. Be gentle with the sensor.
* Check the voltage of the MAF sensor (refer to a repair manual for vehicle specific information)
* Replace the MAF sensor.

P0113 - Intake Air Temperature Circuit High Input

What does that mean?
The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the temperature of the air entering the engine. The PCM supplies a 5 volt reference voltage to the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor. The IAT is a thermistor that varies resistance based on temperature. As the temperature increases, resistance decreases. Low temperature results in a high signal voltage. When the PCM sees a signal voltage higher than 5 volts, it sets this P0113 check engine light code.

Potential Symptoms
There will likely be no symptoms other than illumination of the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL - Check Engine Light / Service Engine Soon).

Causes
A code P0113 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* Internally failed IAT sensor
* Faulty connection at IAT sensor
* Open in IAT ground circuit or signal circuit
* Short to voltage in IAT signal circuit or reference circuit
* IAT harness and/or wiring routed too close to high-voltage wiring (e.g. alternator, spark plug cables, etc.)
* Faulty PCM (less likely but not impossible)

Possible Solutions
First, if you have access to a scan tool, is there an IAT reading? If the IAT reading is logical then the problem is likely intermittent. If the reading is less than -30 degrees, unplug the connector. Install a jumper wire between the harness connector signal and ground circuits. The IAT temperature reading on the scan tool should be maxed out at the high end. For example it should be 280 degrees Farenheit or higher. If it is, the wiring is okay, and it may have been the connection. If it isn't install the jumper wire between the IAT signal circuit and the chassis ground. If now the IAT reading on the scan tool is maxed out then check for an open in the IAT ground circuit. If you get no reading at all on the scan tool, it's likely that the sensor signal is open or the 5 volt reference is missing. Check using a DVOM (digital volt ohm meter) for a 5 volt reference. If it's there, then unplug the connector at the PCM and check for continuity on the IAT signal circuit between the PCM connector and the IAT connector.

I really hope help with this (remember rated this).

My 2000 ford focus has codes p0102 and p0113 whats that and what could it be?

P0102 - Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Low Input
The MAF sensor circuit is monitored by the PCM for low air flow (or voltage) input through the comprehensive component monitor (CCM). If during key ON engine running the air flow (or voltage) changes below a minimum calibrated limit, the test fails. MAF sensor disconnected
MAF circuit open to PCM
VPWR open to MAF sensor
PWR GND open to MAF sensor
MAF RTN circuit open to PCM
MAF circuit shorted to GND
Intake air leak (near MAF sensor)
A closed throttle indication [throttle position (TP) sensor system]
Damaged MAF sensor
Damaged PCM
A MAF V PID (MAF PID) reading less than 0.23 volts (Refer to equivalent grams/second chart in GO to Pinpoint Test DC ) in continuous memory or key ON and engine running indicates a hard fault.
P0113 - Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Circuit High Input Indicates the sensor signal is greater than Self-Test maximum. The IAT sensor maximum is 4.6 volts or -50°C (-58°F). Open circuit in harness
Sensor signal short to power
Damaged sensor
Improper harness connection
Damaged PCM
IAT V PID reading greater than 4.6 volts with key ON and engine OFF or during any engine operating mode indicates a hard fault.

How do you replace an iat sensor on a 2000 celica

the IAT sensor is built into the MAF sensor. you must replace the whole assembly. Measiring resistance at terminals 4and 5 at 100f should read about 1000-2000 ohms. you can try cleaning it, if its not shorted or open. I cant find any purple/black wire, what is it near? does it have a connector on it? male or female, and how many cavities?
