The daytime running lights and the low beam

We have a 2005 Subaru Outback. The daytime running lights and the low beam headlights quit working. also the SPORT and AWD lights start flashing after driving only a few hundred yards. These problems started at the same time. I have checked every relevant fuse I can think of---all are good. Any ideas?

I found both low beam bulbs burned out. Changed bulbs and lights work ok. The "SPORT" light on the instrument panel starts flashing after a couple hundred yards of driving. After a half mile or so the AWD light starts flashing also. Running and shifting is fine although I think it is in FWD only. This is a 2005 Outback with 58000 miles.

Check all grounds

  • Anonymous Jun 24, 2009

i would still check your grounds

the lack of a suitable ground may have cause the bulbs to fail.

i'm willing to bet the problem occurs again.

because the ground that failed, shorted through your lights.

    best of luck

Headlights won' turn on on a 2006 subaru outback marker lights work

2006 Subaru Liberty 3.0 Blitzen, 52,000kms. It's unbelievable, both my low beams went out at once and when I checked it was both the globes had gone at once. Never has this happened on any other vehicle before, I've ordered a HID conversion kit over the net, hope that works well.

2004 Outback: headlights stopped working.

either the headlight switch is defective or the dimmer is, it can't be anything else, do the hi beams work ok, have you tried wiggling the dimmer switch to see if the low beams flicker?
