There are four total mounts.

1. Upper engine mount located on the passenger side of the engine. Get this at the dealer, aftermarket, especially Anchor brand are garbage.

2. Lower engine mount, often refered to as a "dog bone" mount because of its shape. This one is located on the lower passenger side. You'll have to remove some splash shields to get to it. Aftermarket is OK.

3. Upper transmission mount, also refered to as a "dog bone" mount. Located under the battery.Aftermarket is OK.

4. Lower transmission mount. Located under the transmission. As with the top engine mount, dealer is better quality.

The two dogbone mounts usualy last a very long time, its the others that fail over time. Especially the upper one.

1999 automatic saturn sl1 , hard shifting and surges . Replaced all of the motor mounts and that didnt help..

Not sure why you went after the mounts. Sounds like shift solenoids or something more serious with the transmission.

Where is the location of the heater blower motor on a 1994 saturn sl1? Do I have to tear the dash out?

No need to tear the dash out. The blower is located above the passenger's feet, below the glove compartment. You access it from underneath. Three small black bolts hold it on and there is a two wire electrical connector on the bottom that must be removed. The motor drops down with the fan blade attached. Should take about 5 or 10 minutes to remove.

I have a '93 SL2 and the interior is the same as an SL1 or 2 from '92, '93, '94 and maybe even a '95.

Mount for a 91 saturn sl2 (dohc)

The real problem you have is that Saturn changed the motor mounts after the first year. So the 91 mounts are different than those for the 92-99 1.9L 4 cylinder which are all the same. You can wait around for them to appear on ebay, except for the front mount which has a small shock built into it which I have never seen for sale on ebay. I assume a dealer could get them for you at a ridiculous price, or check SaturnParts.net for a somewhat lower but still high price.

Note that most of the folks selling Saturn motor mounts just assume that 91-99 years are the same as the engine was the same but that is just not true. If you look on ebay you can find Saturn parts identifier sheets, S-series, for about a dollar plus 3 dollars shipping, buy one of those those and you will see the difference between the engine mounts and have the exact part numbers.

Broken belt tensioner on 1999 Saturn SL1

I replaced the tensioner on my 91 and my 94 as they were bad. The same part fits the 99, though I have yet to replace the one on my 99, so I assume it has two bolts as well. If you have high speed access go to youtube and search saturn tensioner. Some guy has a video on there showing it being done lickety split with an air ratchet. While you most likely do not have air tools, at least that will show you where the two bolts are located if you cannot find them. You back out the bolts, pull out the tensioner, put the new one in and replace the bolts, tighten firmly. You have to have the plastic access panel behind the right front wheel removed to get at the bolts and to put the belt back on. Hey while you are in there you may want to replace the right side motor mount which is right in front of you. The one on the other side is under the battery box, your car may run a bit smoother with both of them replaced as the rubber grommets tend to wear out. These two keep the motor from yawing back and forth in the engine compartment. There are another two mounts which take a bit more skill to replace.
