Sounds like internal problem, will require removing and disassembling the trans to locate problem
you need to have an oil change for your transmission, while at it you should clean the strainer or filter inside.

Hi, just had this problem repaired. The lower arm bushings are bad...not the transmission. I ordered two sets from the nubira site (for the left and right sides of the car)...they are kind of like metal rings with rubber inside...this rubber dampens the shifting from the transmission. $250 - $300 job. Sure that's what it is...

If you have an auto, you could have low fluid level, or your fluid and filter need to be changed. If a manual, maybe a shift linkage problem.

1 get the anty theft fixed
2 remove the anty theft from the gear shift,

Both symptoms are due to the brake light switch above the brake pedal. You can test the switch or just replace it. Cost is about $20. Let me know if you have questions.
