Have 2001 toyota sienna, check engine light on...had coded read at parts store...po440, po441, po446...replaced gas cap with new toyota dealership gas cap...reset computer, when filled auto with gas, check engine light came back on...had computer reset at auto parts store again, again when auto filled with new tank of gas, light reappeared. what should i do next?
You have to understand that there is a leak in the system other than the gas cap for the evaporative system. The system needs to be professionally closed, and smoke introduced into to find the leak, and a through component check, eg.. purge valve vapor canister vent solenoid all functioning correctly
Well sure enough for me a lucky break after i had replaced all of the o2 sensors for inspection the light now was off but to my dismay it ****** me off that bingo on comes the light again but with the codes 440 - 441 - 446 and so on but after reading the fix it articles i decided to try rhe easiest fix i removed the gas cap cleaned the rubber gasket on the cap and cleaned the filler neck to make sure that there were no leaks i then cleared the computer and the light was off i drove the car a few miles and its still off as before the light would come on after 5 minutes so i consider this a fix hope you people with the same problem try this and have the same results
Take it to a dealer. there is a sensor that is causing this problem, they already know what it is, and you won't have to buy anymore gas caps

p0440 is the evaporative emission control system p0441 is incorrect evap purge flow and p0446 is evap vent control circuit this means the charcaol canister is defective the only problem is they are in the rear of the car above the gas tank and they are metal when you gas up your car there are warning signs DO NOT TOP OFF TANK meaning when gas pump shuts off do not put in more gas ! reason being is the gas overflows into the metal canister and gets trapped and absorbs moisture , and you know what water does to metal .... rust ! no signal to solenoid = check engine light and codes sorry to say you are looking at about 600-700 dollars to fix
