Whenever I am driving, my temp gauge will sit at right about its normal spot for about 5 minutes after the car has been warmed up. Then it will jump up to as hot as it can go for about five minutes, then cool back down. I don't know if my car is actually overheating or what. The coolant level is fine. The person who sold me the car claims it is a computer error and to ignore it. There is no way that could be right.
I have a similar problem except i was told to drive it in town only since the transmission is bad.. we replaced the heads.. fan.. pump and thermostat.. im waiting to change the transmission.. idk what else to do? is there a chance that it can be tha transmission? please i need answers i need the car to get around!
01 linclin ls cooling fan does not come on fluid o k
Sounds like youhave air in your cooling system.you need to start it in the driveway, let it warm to running temp with the cap off.if it drops when the thermostat opens add a little coolant at a time until it forces the air out of the system.hope this helps.
No your right change the thermostat and antifreeze and that should fix the problem about $30.00 do not drive till you do the work or you will damage the engine. also make sure the cooling fan is turning when it gets hot but only for a few seconds.
