Have you checked for spark?

have you pulled a plug after cranking to see if it is wet?

does the engine sound like it is turning over faster than usual?

did it just not start or did it stall. Did this happen after you changed the spark plugs?

you may need to run a wire from a keyed ignition source that has power while cranking and running to the fuel pump relay and bypass the pcm to test wether it will run, if it runs put a more permanent wire in place. Not too sure what tests youve done but it seems that fuel is what your focusing on so a quick test is too spray engine start up the intake tube to see if the engine trys to run if it does it eliminates a lot of other potential reasons for a no start condition. Also try squeezing the fuel return line to see if the added pressure will try to make engine run.Could be time to replace fuel pump etc anyway let me know how it goes good luck with it

Hello, I am going to make a few assumptions here. The vehicle has an electric fuel pump and you replaced it. The vehicle has fuel injection. The engine is actually cranking, just not starting, when you say "car still won't crank". You are getting fire to the spark plugs at the plug ends. You checked the fuel pump for power at the pump. No power, then you back traced the wire to the fuse block and checked the fuse to see if it was blown. If the fuse is good back trace the power to the ignition switch and/or ECM for power. You have power at the pump, check the ground and make sure it is connected properly. Will the pump run when someone turns the key on? Pump runs, check fuel manifold for pressure. No pressure, check the fuel filter for blockage, or replace it. Fuel pump doesn't run, new replacement pump is defective. There is usually some type of control module for the fuel pump on fuel injected vehicles. Good Luck, RAC

if you have spark at the plugs you need to check fuel pressure at reed valve on fuel rail, you will need at least 55psi to fire injectors,

Car cranks but wont start

IF the motor is cranking, is it getting any fuel? When you turn your key on, do you hear the fuel pump kick on? Most cars today are fuel injected, and use an electric fuel pump. With another partner, have them stick their ear on the gas tank as you are turning the car on. You should hear some kind of pump, if not, your fuel pump may be dead.

1997 mazda 626 won't start.

Are the plugs wet with fuel?
Check for spark. No spark? it may be the ignition module.

Plugs dry and spark present? No fuel?Spray a little starting fluid and see if it will run on that.
Then check pump fuses and for fuel pump noise.

Have 99 mazda 626 sat idle for a year replaced batterty and alternator belt . cranks but won't start.

I would check to see if the car is getting fuel to the engine. Make sure your fuel pump is kicking on. Check to see if gas is going to the fuel filter from the pump. Make sure gas is going through the pump as well. You could also check the fuel pressure to avoid looking. Make sure it is in range. Also, make sure your battery terminals are cleaned and they are not loose. Make sure all the wires are tight and correct at the alternator. You may have an issue with the ignition system. check for spark. You may have a bad plugs or perhaps, a crank sensor or cam sensor. It could be anyone of these parts. You just need to do the proper test to eliminate all possibilities. If you have a question, just let me know.

Car turns over but will not start changed the coil and still wont start

There are some possibilities which you will have to check in this case:--

1) First of all check the power and voltage to the battery. With meter it will show exact 12 volt if the battery is charged. If the voltage is less get the battery charged at local auto repair shop. If the battery is internally drained and not getting charged then its time to replace the battery.

2) When you crank the car do you see spark coming at the spark plug? If no then its time to check the spark plugs and coil pack. If the spark plugs are not worn out and looks new then its time to check coil pack. The spark plug gets power to spark from coil pack.

3) The other thing to check in this case is the starter solenoid of the car. If the battery is charged and you start the car then it gives power to the starter to start the car. But if starter is faulty or not connected properly then car will not start.

4) The other thing to check in this case is fuel in the car. If there is fuel in the car then check the blockages in the fuel pump if the fuel pump looks proper then check the fuel filter above the fuel pump.

5) If all the above possibilities mentioned above checked out OK/perfect then it's a electrical issue and the wiring's in the car needs to be checked. The car gets power from the battery to get started. so the wires from battery needs to be checked one by one.

The battery to starter connection has power.the battery is ok.but there are many other possibilities related to battery and its other connections, the spark plugs, the fuel pump, the fuel itself, the sensors(o2 sensor, maf sensor)the valve(IAC valve, egr valve). Most probably the spark plug, the coil pack and crank shaft sensor. This 3 are not getting power to get the car start.

Changed starter and alternator and still wont start on 1988 grand am

There are few things that you will have to check. 1) Is the battery properly charged. 2) Are you getting spark at the spark plugs, when you crank the car to start. 3) Is there proper fuel in the car. ---------------- If the battery is not charged properly the car will not start.Check the voltage of the battery .It should be exact 12volt. If there is no spark coming when you crank the engine then its the problem of either the spark plugs or the coil pack.the spark plugs gets power to spark from coil packs. Also check the fuel pump and fuel filter. If the fuel pump and fuel filter are worn out then it will not supply the fuel properly to the engine and this results in no-start problem. If all battery, fuel pump and spark plugs checked out OK then its time to check the wiring connections between the battery to starter and battery to alternator. This will help.
