Lead burned through
that's easy
using the wrong fuse size
and the feed is shorted,
the correct fuse prevents the burned wires.

here are the HVAC pages
http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm?utm_source=cj#service

lots of things can short. in cars. (topic Hvac)

  • the wires.
  • the connectors
  • the HVAC motors (actuators)
  • the blower.

if you had stated the exact wire color and what it connect to exacty
we can state who shorted.

Fuse 1 , 40amp runs the blower. dark green.
Fuse 20 , 10amps runs others.
Fuse 7 runs zone control,,,10A and all 4 damper motors actuators.
see 8w-42-6 pages.

ok you have your FSM and now can find who connects to what.

SOURCE: i replaced a climate control

the wiring going into the fan motor itself are backwards. The fan isn't spinning the right direction. just switch these wires and it should work better

Testimonial: "thank you very much!! i thought it may be the problem but it was a factory wire harness & it should have been right"

SOURCE: 97 jeep grand Cherokee wont blow hot or cold air

is your car warmed up? if it is already warm, probably you have a clogged heater core and/or airpocket in system.

to bleed airpocket, raise the front part and try to bleed air from bleeding screw. you will see bubbles if there are any after few minutes of idling.

if nothing helps you will understand that you need a new cabin heater or you need to try to clean debris out. be informed that this requires you t remove almost all parts of dash.

SOURCE: 2000 jeep cherokee limited dual heat one side only blows hot air

You will have to check the flap operating controls behind the centre consol as anything could be wrong from a vacumn pipe to a operating mechanism ,even the computer controlling the climatic control .

Heater blower is working but only blows cold air 2001 Grand Cherokee Jeep Limited 3.1d

Either your heater core is plugged up or your line to the core is restricted. Do a complete reverse rad flush with a radiator cleaning solution and try it. If that doesn't work you'll need a new heater core.

No hot air control

Probably broken blend doors if everything else is working, but its just blowing cold air. Do a google search for "Jeep Blend Doors" or "Heater treater" for more info.

Power loss

Sounds like a bad forward control module, or body control module. All those things run off of one computer.

1999 Jeep Cherokee sport/air vents do not blow out cold or hot while it is on

this sounds like the recirculation door in the heater box is broken and this is a difficult and can be an expensive repair as the dash has to be removed for access. a quick check for this is if you release the glove box and let it hang you will see the heater box if you reach up to the left top you will feel a grid and the recirc flap is housed there you can operate the blower and hot and cold and see if flap moves

Heater ac blower inop and only cold air blows on passenger side.

The blower problem on your jeep needs proper diagnosis. This could be one of several problems.
As simple as a relay or as big as a blower motor. With automatic temperature control you could be looking at a control assembly.

the cold air on the passenger side is a passenger blend door problem. Could be the actuator or a broken door. This problem requires removal of the entire dash to get to the problem. Not something you want to tackle without a complete step by step set of instructions.

I do have one other suggestion for this problem. You will still have to get the blower problem to complete the repair. Copy this link and go see what you think about blend door repair.

I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with the automatic climate control option. Within the last few weeks, I have noticed cold air seeping under the passenger side dashboard, near the blower...

It could be a poor seal but I've never seen it. What you could have is a fresh air door not closing properly. Fresh air door/recirculation same thing.

Air conditoner on a 2000 jeep grand cherokee limited

you have a blend air system. this means that it uses both the a/c and heat to control the cab temp. there are doors that open and close using servo motors and chances are one or more of these motors might have shorted out. unfortunately they are under the dash and a pain to get to. i would advice that you take it to a shop and let a qualified tech replace them. it will save you alot of frustration in the long run
