I reset the computer on my 2004 cayenne and now it will not start. it was running before i reset but i wanted to clear a code so i can pass emission test. i am always a emission pass but i have a code that pops ups and puts check engine on. with code i cannot pass and if reset it takes a good 100 miles to return hence i pass emission but this time i reset using a new devise and now porsche will not start. any ideas?

How would clearing a dash light help pass inspection?
Before you got down the street two houses, the light would
be back,the car has a failed system ,thus the light on the
dash after the motor is started.
You cleared all data,now a shop can't even work on it
You removed all vehicle history & codes
Flat bed it to a shop & they will make the repairs you neglected
to do, while trying to get hundred miles before the parameters
on a failed system went out of range & the dash light came back
Need to study OBD 2 Systems on the internet & leave the vehicle
work to the pros

Your trying to pass inspection with no intentions of making any repairs i at l until aftr inspection I understandlem is the check lig is on & will be untll the repairs are made & as you said the tming was not in your favor for passing insection first You need to make the repairs months ago whenyou irst go a MIL Lamp on the dash Now it bit you & yu stuck
No it won't pass,your not correct there as the light indicates a failure in te emiisions system which is gvt mandate to almost the entire vehicle
well i decided to program it with my good programmer and the software i saved as a backup.
my light comes on due to a short that has nothing to do with emissions. my light jams when it adjusts so i had to turn off the motor for it. that is why i get a service engine light. unfortunately in toronto if that light is on you fail test even if you are a pass.

i just reprogrammed the computer with the flash i backed up. i was very curious as to why it would not start after simply reseting the obd2. i have a scanner but i also have a reader/writer. if i cannot fix something i simply flash it and then live data to see what is happening.
