SOURCE: tps sensor

There are 2 screws that hold the TPS on to the side of the throttle body. Before you take the old TPS off, note where the TPS is located regarding the adjustment slots. Remove the 2 screws, and remove the old TPS, install the new one, and try to achieve the SAME adjustment. If you get the adjustment wrong, the engine will idle up & down. If it does, move the new TPS slightly until the idle smooths out.

Its at the rear of the engine, close to the firewall. Look at the intake part of the engine block for 2 wires that connect into the sensor plug. It is installed vertically.

SOURCE: I have a 1998 toyota corolla and need to replace

Follow the hose from the bottom of the radiator to the point where in reaches the engine block. That's where the thermostat is located and the Engine Coolant Temperature switch is there too.

I HAVE A 2000 Toyota Corolla CE IT SAY IT HOT BUT ITS NOT WHAT CAN IT BE

low on coolant - steam going across the sensor instead of coolant will give a false reading. bad temp gauge sensor or a bad gauge and also does it go straight to hot as soon as you start the car when it is cold like first thing in the morning or does it gradually start climbing and will it run hotter or cooler when ac is on or when stopped or going down the road. let me know and give more info hope this helped.

My low coolant light keeps coming on the coolant is full and doesnt over heat would that be a coolant level sensor

Hello: Yes, you are correct, the sensor is normally located on the passenger side of the radiator tank. You only have to drain the cooling system down below the sensor. On some models the level sensor is in the coolant overflow tank.

How to replace a coolant level sensor, 2000 buick century

The coolant level sensor is located on the radiator. If you are looking at the engine from the front of the car it will be on the left side. There will some kind of clip holding it in the radiator. Removed the clip and pull the sensor out. You will lose coolant so try to swap it out quick or drain some of the coolant out. Once new sensor is installed, install clip to keep the sensor in place and reconnect the wires to the sensor. Crank the engine and make sure the coolant level is full. This should correct your problem.

VW COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

while looking at the engine from the front, locate the transmission, come up the side of the engine and you will see a plug that is connected to a hose. that is were the temp sensor is located. remove connector and take a flat head screw driver and a pair of pliers and back out the c clip. pull the senor out and make sure you reach down in side and removed the old o ring. toss them to the side. the top of the sensor is either black or if it has been replaced before it will be green. take some of the coolant and rub it on the new o ring before installing the new one. install the new sensor, while pushing down on the sensor reinstall the c clip start the car and let it get to operating temp. shut the car down, reopen the hood and SLOWLY release the pressure in the coolant system to bleed any air in the system. and POW your done. total time of repair..about 15 minutes at the most.
