SOURCE: Emergency Flashers totally out, Rear lights malfunctioning

Check the ground on the passenger side rear lights, it's likely bad. As for the hazards, sounds like a bad flasher or fuse.

SOURCE: Drum brakes causing intermittent grinding noise

Sounds like one of the springs that hold the rear brakes in place broke. Jack her up, pop off the tire, remove the drum and take a look. If you need to see what a good one looks like, look on the other side.

This is not a very common problem, but I saw it last year on a 69 chevelle.

Good Luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

SOURCE: FORD LASER 1999:

Inside the transmissions lower trans pan upin removal you will see electronic solenoids mounted in there. The 3rd gear solenoid is at fault which neds to be replaced. That will get the trans to shift correctly again. Change the filter and fluid at the sam time as well
The solenoid needs to be purchased at a ford parts department as well

Check your fuel pressure if it is fuel injected on the fuel rail....other than that, it is a good possibility that either you need to change your fuel filter or fuel pump.

There is a weird grinding noise come from underneath my subaru. The sound seem to be coming from the fron passegner side, and stops when I apply brakes(even a slight touch of the brakes. Thak you.

jack up car on passengers side and see if tire is tight, it may be a bad wheel bearing. to check, see if there is any movement in tires. rotate the tire and see if noise is there. a way to check for a bad wheel bearing is to jack up tire, then apply emergency brake and put foot on brake start car and put it in gear ( foot on brake ).release the brake real slow and the tire will spin,do not give it gas, so you can tell if the bearings are bad. be careful not to let car lurch forward! if not the bearings. you may have a worn brake pad on that side etc. good-day !!

98 buick park ave. shakes n shifts hard and noises, is this a transmission sensor?

sounds like a trans mount when they go bad it causes all kinds of shakes , have someone put in gear ,open hood,, watch motor. tell them to hold brake and give it a little gas .Don;t stand in front of car .....see if motor raises up if so replace all mounts motor included. this is a common fix on theses cars.

If you have a motor mount going bad, are you suppose to be able to hear a noise of some kind?

Not usually. when a mount is bad, you can FELL the car **** when accell of a stop or changing from Drive to reverse. To check it, put on your parking brake, now hold the brake pedal with your left foot, now put the car in reverse, and press the gas slightly, the engine will move slightly, now put it in drive, the engine should shift slightly, if it moves a LOT like a few inches or moves upward, you may have a mount bad and it needs to be inspected.

First gear

The following test is very dangerous. Do not try this if you are going to let the brake go at anytime. YOU MUST HOLD THE BRAKE DOWN WITH YOUR LEFT FOOT 100% OF THE TIME.

OK. Open the hood and turn on the car. Have an assistant stand to the SIDE OF THE ENGINE NOT IN FRONT OF THE CAR. Next, put your foot firmly on the brake with one foot and your second foot on the gas simultaneaouly. Put in gear iff the brake is all the way down. now torque the motor by slowly giving it gas, while you brake NEVER IS UNDONE. Your assitant is looking at you engine to see if it is moving forward and backward erratically. Now torque in reverse gear.

Hold the brake 100% of the time. With the seond foot torque (giving gas) in reverse. You assistant is looking to see if the engine moves erratically.

It sounds like you have a broken engine mount. If a Toyota, there is a "dogbone" looking mount on top of the engine in front of the passenger in the engine compartment. Notice it does not happen when you run lightly, but it noisey when torqued.

LEXUS LS 400 STEERING DOESNT GO DOWN

I had the same problem and took the steering wheel apart on the left side where the lift motor is. There is a plastic gear that controls your lift that is stripped out. I went to the dealership and they wanted $500 for the assembly, they wouldn't sell just the gear. I went home and after I thought about it a while came up with the idea to turn the gear around backwards since the teeth on that side were in good shape. I put it back together and it has worked great ever since. This should work for you with very little effort. I do now however do not hold or apply alot of pressure to the wheel when it is lifting as this is what causes this problem in the first place. Hope this helps you. Todd
