Still starting, but barely.

My 1998 Nissan Maxima GLE is having trouble starting up. The Check Engine light is on when the car is on at this point. Upon turning the key it turns over and tries to start but it requires me to hit the gas peddle, revving it up pretty good in order to get it to start. It seems to be a fuel injection problem of some sort. Clogged injector(s) perhaps?
For the record, I JUST had the alternator replaced after a full electrical failure. Thx.

I have a 1998 Nissan Maxima GLE, engine was replaced with a 1998 SE engine. Since then, I have been having problems starting. I get a boost and once I move the car and park it, it won't start again....

there is a problem with your iginition timing. it is most probably overly advanced. have an experienced mechanic check your ignition timing. the mechanic should check the distributor, camshaft, and crankshaft timings.

Service engine lights on 1998 maxima gle

Your light is on because the computer has detected a problem with your vehicle. Since there are many things that can cause it to go off, you need to have it scanned at Autozone or Advanced. They do this for free and they will tell you why your light came on.

What kind of oil I should use for a 98 nissan maxima gle

depending on how many miles you have on it.

usually 10W30 for cars around that year. (if you fill it with thinner oil the engine might make clicking sounds, and thicker oil might clog up the engine)

My 1995 Nissan maxima Gle won't start. Everything lights up when I turn the key. What's wrong with it?

Does it even try to turn over, as in engine cranking? Tried a boost, if yes what happened?

Replace the oxygen sensors. The check engine light on a 98 maxima lets you know that there is a problem with the emission system.

1998 maxima gle Tune-up needed what parts do i need

Every 30,000 miles you need an air filter, every 60,000 a fuel filter, every 100,000 spark plugs. That's it.
