I am trying to locate the starter of my 1998 LS 400 pls. help me.

The Starter Is Located UNDER THE INTAKE MANIFOLD
Set up like The NorthStar Engines Cadilac & Oldsmobile Use.

REMOVAL REMOVAL
1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER 2. DISCONNECT ACCELERATOR CABLE 3. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP COVER, AIR CLEANER INLET AND INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR 4. DISCONNECT THROTTLE BODY 5. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE REAR WATER BYPASS JOINT 7. REMOVE WATER BYPASS PIPE

1. Remove the bolt.
2. Pull out the water bypass pipe from the water pump.
3. Disconnect the wire clamp from the bracket on the water bypass pipe.
4. Remove the O-ring from the water bypass pipe.

1. Remove the 2 bolts holding the starter to the cylinder block.
2. Disconnect the starter from the cylinder block.
3. Disconnect the starter connector.
4. Remove the nut and disconnect the starter wire.
5. Remove the bolt and disconnect the wire clamp from the starter and remove the starter.

1. Install the wire clamp to the wire bracket with the bolt. Torque: 9.81 N.m (98 kgf.cm, 84 in.lbf)
2. Connect the starter wire with the nut. Torque: 9.81 N.m (98 kgf.cm, 84 in.lbf)
3. Connect the starter connector.
   
4. Install the starter with the 2 bolts. Torque: 39 N.m (400 kgf.cm, 29 ft.lbf)
   

1. Install a new O-ring to the water bypass pipe.
2. Apply soapy water to the O-ring.
3. Push in the water bypass pipe end into the pipe hole of the water pump.
4. Install the wire clamp to the bracket on the water bypass pipe.
5. Install the water bypass pipe with the bolt. Torque: 18 N.m (185 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf)

The starter is located under the intake manifold on this engine.
