remove your license and behind it you will find i think two screws then remove that panel and you should be able to get to it.

There are 6 bolts that hold the rear trunk panel on the trunk itself: 4 behind the license plate on the outside of the trunk and two inside the trunk panel trim.
1. Remove the license place from the DeVille rear trunk panel.
2. Remove the 4 bolts located below the license plate.
3. Remove the trunk panel (felt) trim inside the trunk.
4. There is a small bolt on each side of inside trunk panel (4mm I believe). Remove them. Each will have a rubber washer on them so you'll know you are removing the correct bolt.

5. From the outside of the trunk, lift out the rear trunk panel. The license plate light (and reverse lights) are removed by turning the light assemblies counter clockwise.

How do I replace a license plate bulb on 04 cadillac srx

Replacing the license plate bulbs was simple. It took all of 20 minutes. Don't let the directions fool you. Remove the lift gate screw.Use a 10mm deep socket to remove the 5 nuts.(you can see the nuts on long bolts).Get a screw driver and gently pry the panel up. You can see everything right in front of you. Easy job if you have ANY kind of common sense.

Replace the license plate light bulb-'99 cad DeVille

Hello,

Please follow the instructions below carefully to change the bulbs in the licence plate of your cad deville;
1.All you have to do is put a flat blade screw driver on the right side of the bulb housing and gently push to the left. This will release the catch holding it in and it will drop out and down on the end of its wiring connector.

2.1/4 turn the bulb and remove. Replace the bulb and just put the housing back into the opening left side first, then just push up on the right side till you hear a click. Takes about 1 min per light. Works for all Deville types from 99-08
