REMOTE KEY INITIALIZATION For this type of key.
alarm activated and is unable to deactivate - attachment.php?attachmentid=11303&d=1375746027&thumb=1&s=cdbd899db156db62f9d976a9f18e6663

The initialisation of the FZV keys is required to establish the Lock/Unlock signal synchronisation with the GM V. The initialization procedure provides the GM with a key identification number and a "rolling code" for each key. If the initialisation is not performed, the GM will not respond to the key signals. Up to 4 remote keys can be initialised. They must be initialised at the same time. Key initialisation is only possible with the vehicle unlocked.

Procedure:
1. Close all doors and have all keys available.
2. Using key number 1, turn the ignition switch to KL R, then switch off within 5 seconds and remove the first key.
3. Within 30 seconds of turning the ignition switch to "off" Press and hold button #2 .
4. While holding button #2 , press and release ("tap") button #1 three times within 10 seconds.
5. Release both buttons. The LED in the key will flash momentarily. The GM will immediately lock and unlock the doors signalling a successful initialisation.
6. If additional keys need to be initialised repeat steps 3 - 5 within 30 seconds.
7. Switching the ignition to KL R completes the initialisation.

SERVICE NOTE:
The key memory function of the GM responds to the key identification number of each key. If the keys are not initialised in the same order prior to initialisation, the key memory functions activated by the keys will not be assigned correctly. Always initialise the keys in the same order.

SOURCE: 5 series Battery drain.

Hi, you will need to remove the passenger side kick panel under the dash then you will be able to see the side of the heater box, you should be able to see a black milti plug with a 2.5mm red and white wire, if you unplug this you will see the casing for the resistor, this just un clips from the heater box and remove, replacement is just the reverse, hope this helps or if you get stuck just ask for more help, mark.

I had a similar problem, 2003 530i, but only while the alarm was active. The culprit was a bad hood switch that was making intermitent connection.

How can i turn my security light off so i can start my car?

Jeremy: According to eHow.com: "
  • 1 Press the "Unlock" key on your key fob to deactivate the alarm and unlock the car doors. If you've lost your key fob, unlocking the driver's side door with the key automatically deactivates the PT Cruiser's alarm.
  • 2 Look for the black alarm box underneath the dashboard, on the driver's side of the car. Locate the override button on the box -- either a black or red button, depending on the year of the PT Cruiser -- but don't press it yet.
  • 3 Put the key in the ignition and turn the key so that the battery is on, but the engine doesn't start. Quickly push and hold in the override button until you hear the alarm sound once, indicating the alarm is disabled.

    Reset anti theft system

it has gone into theft mode. you will need to have the system rest. it makes it so the parts are useless. when you take the battery off for any reason you need to have the key in the ignition on number 2 then off to 0. leave key in and you now have 30 seconds to take of the battery. just taking off the battery with out doing this can activate the systerm.

If I use my key instead of my FOB my alarm will sound. Any thoughts? Mark

Your alarm is activated and deactivated by the use of the FOB...

Think about it this way; If you have a house alarm, does it turn off by itself just because you opened the front door? No, of course not, you need to then enter the code to deactivate the house alarm.

Same thing with the FOB, it cancels the alarm.

Replace the battery in th key fob to allow you to deactivate the alarm system. Use a small thin edged screw driver to pop open the cover on the fob to replace the battery.

    Imobiliser problem

If im not mistaken, your car should have an alarm reset/override.Below the steering column,on the dash should be a slot where you put your remote transmitter to deactivate the alarm. If that works, you then need to have your remote checked and coded by a vw dealer.Good luck.

    Won't start

Hey it sounds like either a battery needs to be replaced, also If the car has an alarm, does the alarm use a key-fob. If you have the key-fob be sure to deactivate the alarm before you start the car. If you don't have the fob than you need to do a couple things, first try and find a valet switch, it is either a button or switch on the drivers side up underneath the dashboard, this deactivates the alarm, than give it a try, if that does not work disconnect one of the terminals of the battery, than turn the key to the on position, reconnect the battery, than try to start the car. If this does not work look at getting the battery tested for CCA, to make sure it has the amps to start the car.

    Hope that helps
