take you car to an auto parts store that checks your check engine code for FREE most of the chains do.take a pen and paper thats in case they cant give you a print out .you need the codes and what they are also get the trouble shooting tips for those codes .if you still need more help repost with the codes and what they are..... example p0100 mass air flow circuit malfuntion.todays cars all start with those codes it help you narrow down the problem
check your timing belt put no 1 cylnder at top dead center timing mark at 0 remove your distrebuter cap and see if the rotor is pointing at number 1 spark plug
if not replace that belt (replacement is at 60k I believe) sounds like the fix good luck CJ ps no. one on compression stroke
Change your plugs, sounds like they are worn and nit firing as strong when on a pull. Or check for jumping sparks from the engine area at night. It could be a wire jumping out sparks hitting any metal around the wire.
