The truck runs for about 15 min then stops will not start again for a few minutes then process repeats.

Last winter I put anew battery in the truck after that the astro flex car starter did not work so I just didn't use it. now I start the truck and it runs for like 10-15 min then shuts off can not start again for like 5 min then it starts right up but after a few minutes it stops? what could be the problem?

SOURCE: trucks shuts off while driving

I have a 2000 dodge ram. I had the same problem the truck would just stall no matter how fast or slow i was going. It ended up being the crankshaft position sensor. You need to check for codes to find the problem. p0385-p0389 is the crank shaft sensor. It takes about 5 min. to change if thats the problem. On that year you might be able to turn the key to the on position but not starting then off, then on, then off, then on (three times) on the third time leave on and watch the odometer it will flash codes then will say p-done.

SOURCE: got a 86 dodge ram with a 318. it,s hard to start

First thing you need to do is check (better to replace) your ignition wires, cap and rotor. Also make sure the coil is not arcing at the tower and that the spark plugs are in good condition.
As far as the choke, most of those have an electric pre-heater connected to them. Most work better if it's not connected (they tend to open the choke too fast). Adjust the choke only on a stone cold engine. It should be completely closed but not with a large amount of force. The vacuum pull-off should open the plate about one quarter inch (varies with what the engine likes) as soon as the engine starts.
Make sure that the accfelerator pump squirts when you move the throttle linkage. If it does not, it will be very difficult to get the engine started.
Never use bargain priced ignition components on an engine. They do not have a high dielectric rating and are very prone to bleed off and arcing even when they are just a little damp. Usually the brown and blue caps/rotors are best.

SOURCE: Car won't start when I

I had a similar problem where the battery was ok but there was no sound from the starter and also there no lights on in the dash when the key was turned. Checked the fuse and checked wire from the fuse back to the ignition switch. The wire from the fuse was ok in fuse box but had no voltage at the ignition sw. The was also no voltage to terminal 30 in the starter relay. Ran a new wire from the fuse to the ignition and it fixed everything. Check for voltage at terminal 30 on the starter relay

My battery got disconnected and now when I try to start it it says starting disabled

By disconnecting the battery, you probably lost the memory for the anti theft (doesn't happen often). Leave the key in the on position without starting for about 15 mins. You may have to repeat this process 3 times (totaling 45 mins) before the anti theft can recognize the chip in your key and start the vehicle. I know this can be time consuming but it's a way to get it done without costing you money. I hope this helps. Good luck.

I have a 98 z24 cavalier auto with the 2.4 I can get it to start then I stalls out a couple seconds later I have done the passlock bypass the guy I got it from took the battery out a it was running great...

Unhook your battery again for about 15 minutes. After you re hook it up, let car sit with the key in the on position, but not running. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, and then turn key off, and start it. It may run rough for a few minutes as the sensors and systems are all resetting. If you try running it right away, or cold, it can confuse the regen process

1984 bronco 2-runs 15 min shuts down wont start again for 20 runs

If the fuel filter is dirty it will settle when you turn the truck off. When it runs for a few minutes the debris in the filter will get sucked into the screen and stop the fuel from getting through. If it was a starter or coil, it would not start at all.

Last sumer, when it is really hot out, our 93 Villager would stop runing after seting for about 20 min. it starts and run fine, this kept happening all summer. All winter no problem. Now this summer it is...

I've owned a 96 Villager and a 97 Villager that both exhibited this problem on occaision. As I understand it the fuel pump is weak. When ambient temperature is high the gas line is subject to vapor lock. Usually my car gave a warning acting like it was running out of fuel in repeated fits. I had about 10 minutes to find a good place to pull off the road. That is why a 15-20 minute wait eliminates the problem. You can solve it by replacing the fuel pump with a higher rating. I personally chose not to spend the money and have put up with the few times a year the problem crops up.
