While driving down the road the pickup with start to cut out and then it shuts off. we put the shifter into Neutral and the pickup starts again. It will cut out again a few times and more and then will stop for a while. We've chage the cam sensor, heat sensors, IDM, etc but it still does it. Fuel filters have been changed and so forth. What can it be?

I had the same problem with My 1990 F150 300 6cylinder 4x4.....I cahnged all the same things you did, finally I sprayed a can of Gumout through the throttle body and it worked and ran great. Now I add fuel injector cleaner to the gas and a regular clean with the gumout and the problem has'nt come back. Good Luck to you and hope it works!

it is possable/likely a bad ECTS (engine coolant tep. sensor), this can cause the injectors to allow to much fuel into cylinders and cause a low compression and or flooding situation, good luck, marty

Replace the TFI module. Ford back in 1986 thur 1993 had problems like the one you wrote about. TFI module gets hot and shuts car or truck off then when it cools sometmies starts and sometimes not.

you should probably check your fuel pressure between the pump and the fuel bowl. my bet is that is is dropping pressure to zero causeing it to shut off just after it gets running. and there are several things that could cause that but the first to check is a return line valve on the side of the fuel bowl. that when pressure builds up it releases back into the tank and if it gets stuck open you will not have enough fuel pressure to run your truck. mine just did the same thing.
