If it shuts off while driving down the road. and restarts after 10 minutes, its usually a bad crank sensor that does this. it messes up timing and shuts off fuel supply.

Cranks but wont start 2002 ford xlt-150 supercrew 5.4 starts when primed then dies off.

there should be a check engine light on**yes/no? this is either the idle air control valve, throttle position sensor or a fuel pump driver module ,fuel pump, fuse,or relay, clogged fuel filter all are possibilities here//// to rule out fuel pump/driver module/filter/relay disconnect the fuel line at the fuel rail wrap a towel around the lines connector and have someone crank the engine for 2 seconds if fuel is present at pressure then that stuff is ok then move to the idle air control valve, throttle position sensor and check those fuses this is a fuel delivery or electrical problem be patient and right down what you have done to narrow down the possibilities you can test the electronics with a meter also check the connectors I'm not there obviously so all I can do is point you in the right direction so (1)fuses/relay check all(2) disconnect fuel line and crank the engine checking for fuel delivery at pressure(3)if check engine light is on and it should be get the codes read you can borrow a code reader from auto zone this will make life simpler and you will find out easier whats wrong or buy one from a auto parts or sears, walmart but don't buy a cheap one if your going to spend the $ spend at least$200.00 and get something that will give you live data Innova, craftsman, etc.

What does code 78 apps main and 79 tps main refer to , it is showing in Mitsubishi pajero 1997 model

Code 78 APPS Main and Code 79 TPS Main are diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) that can appear on a 1997 Mitsubishi Pajero. Code 78 APPS Main: This code indicates that the APPS (Air Pump System) Main relay is not working properly. The APPS relay is responsible for supplying power to the air pump, which is used to control the air-fuel mixture. Code 79 TPS Main: This code indicates that the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) Main circuit is not working properly. The TPS sensor is responsible for sending information to the engine control unit (ECU) about the position of the throttle valve. If either of these codes appears, it is important to have the vehicle diagnosed by a qualified mechanic to determine the cause of the problem. The mechanic may need to test the APPS relay, the TPS sensor, or other components in the fuel system. Here are some possible causes of Code 78 APPS Main and Code 79 TPS Main: Faulty APPS relay: The APPS relay may be faulty and not be supplying power to the air pump properly. Faulty TPS sensor: The TPS sensor may be faulty and not be sending accurate information to the ECU about the position of the throttle valve. Clogged air filter: A clogged air filter can restrict airflow to the engine and cause the APPS relay to overheat and malfunction. Low fuel pressure: Low fuel pressure can cause the APPS relay to overheat and malfunction. Faulty wiring: The wiring to the APPS relay or TPS sensor may be damaged or corroded, causing the codes to appear. If you are experiencing problems with your 1997 Mitsubishi Pajero and either Code 78 APPS Main or Code 79 TPS Main appears, it is important to have the vehicle diagnosed by a qualified mechanic to determine the cause of the problem and to get it repaired as soon as possible.

Car idles fine, but sputters, bogs and dies if gas pedal is pressed.

new spark plugs this decade. (a tune up?0
the filter is part of all 60k tuneups. letting it clog wrecks good pumps.
my wild guess, its lack of fuel flow, do to old filter.
or low fuel pressure.
car is identical to a Corolla. so is not unique or rare as some Geo cars are.
the cam belt not changes, invites valve kissing piston tops. BOOM
end of engine. (costs more to fix then worth of car)
the word is bogging, my engine bogs
if if bogs WOT (wide open throttle) and dont catch up < ITS NOT THE TPS. ever.
tps bad causes short bogs, called hesitations.
The map sensor , is what measure air flow and the ECU matches fuel to this air flow.
my guess, is it does that, but fuel pressure is like 15PSI, bad.

Won't stay started after it warms up

First did you reset the computer after replacing each of these sensors? If you did then i would check the fuel pressure it should be 48-55 psi with the key on and the engine off.If its not within these specs then replace the fuel pump and filter.

90 chevy 350 with TBI starts but wont stay running changed fuel filter and fuel regulator dont know what next

I have a 90 chevy k1500 350 tbi with same problem! I have traced problem to... after turning on key fuel pump kicks on when u crank it over injectors shoot gas and truck starts! After few seconds injectors stop spraying and truck dies! This can happen many times over and over! Eventually sometimes truck stays running and all is great! I changed ignition module, oil pressure sending unit (which i was told controls gas after vehicle is running) fuel filter, computer, fuel pump relay, I am at a loss now! Hope this helps and hope someone can help me!

1992 gmc chevy 350 wont idle when warm

This could be a number of things but i think that your problem sounds like a vacuum leak or an EGR problem. Try listening for leaks and try un-plugging the EGR solenoid valve one time.
