SOURCE: I need a diagram to show me the routing of the petrol pipes on a citroen c3 from the petrol tank to the engine and back to the petrol tank please?

the fuel is constantly rotating round the fuel lines, the fuel is pressurized, so any fuel that is not used by the injectors is sent back to the tank.. this give a constant flow and pressure to the tank. the pressure in the tank is regulated by the pressure relay that lets air into the tank to lower the pressure. this is regulated by the ecu and your speed. if the pressure drops or is to high in the tank the engine can cut out on the fuel rail there is a fuel pressure regulator this keeps pressure on the fuel line coming into the injection system. some systems have duel line feeds from the tank for 2 rail systems, this system was not reliable due to the amount of feed pressure needed to fuel 2 lines. and can cause pressure leaks. some systems have a pressure regulator controlled by the ecu on the return line, this is more fuel efficient as it keeps the fuel at a steadier flow back to the tank and give a better fuel spray into the engine. hope this help you.

Need to get gas out of 95rav is syphoning possible is there any other way

Siphoning will work but you may not get all of the gas that way. Is your fuel pump located in the tank? If not, after siphoning most of the fuel out you can disconnect the fuel line coming from the tank and drain it into a container of some sort. Be careful.

Can drain without removing the tank

yes,you can syphon the tank with a hose pipe or you can go under the bonnet, diss connect the fuel pipe running to the carb and turn ignition on ( the electric petrol pump will pump the fuel out for you ) both options you will need a bucket to collect the fuel.

"Hello ,I have a citreon xsara VTR 1.6 16v , now the two pipes from the fuel pump tank ,These pipe have green and grey clips so which one these go on return to tank and the other one goes through the fuel...

Check in the engine bay and look for the two pipes connected at both ends of the fuel rail. The one connected to the fuel pressure regulator is the return pipe. Blow compressed air thru it and watch the pipes at the fuel pump end. Watch out for fuel sprays and protect yourself. You will be able to know which one is the return pipe.

Honda Accord 2000...how do you drain petrol tank...

Vehicle manufactures have made it extremely difficult to remove fuel from tanks. There are several ways, all not too easy. Try pick up a connection the fuel supply line either under the car or in the engine compartment and see if you can pump the fuel out of there, If the fuel pump is in the tank and has an anti siphon valves in it, this will not work. The other method then is to remove the rubber connection that connects the tank to the filler pipe and push a pipe into the tank from there.

How do i remove gas tank

NOTE Always maintain cleanliness when servicing fuel system components.
  1. Relieve the fuel system fuel pressure.
  2. Drain the fuel tank.
  3. Raise the vehicle.
  4. Disconnect the fuel tank wiring harness connector at the body pass through.
  5. For 3.4L engines, disconnect the quick-connect fitting at the inlet side of the in-pipe fuel filter.
  6. For 3.4L engines, disconnect the quick-connect fitting on the fuel return pipe, near the fuel filter.
  7. Disconnect the fuel tank evaporative emission (EVAP) pipe quick-connect fitting near the fuel filter.
  8. Remove the fuel feed, the fuel return, and the EVAP lines from the fuel pipe retainer.
  9. Remove the retaining nut for the EVAP canister bracket.
  10. Loosen the fuel tank filler pipe hose clamp.
  11. Disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe from the fuel tank.
  12. For 3.5L engines, disconnect the EVAP vent pipe near the fill pipe hose.
NOTE Do not bend the fuel tank straps. Bending the fuel tank straps may damage the straps.
  13. With the aid of an assistant, support the fuel tank and remove the fuel tank strap attaching bolts.
  14. Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle and place the fuel tank in a suitable work area.
  15. If the fuel tank is not being replaced, go to the Installation Procedure.
  16. Disconnect the fuel tank wiring harness from the fuel sender assembly.
  17. Remove the fuel sender shield from the fuel tank.
  18. Disconnect the fuel feed and return pipe quick-connect fittings at the fuel sender.
  19. Disconnect the EVAP vapor pipe assembly from the fuel sender.
  20. Remove the fuel and/or EVAP pipe assembly from the fuel tank.
  21. Remove the fuel sender assembly.
  22. Remove the EVAP vent solenoid valve.
  23. Remove the EVAP canister.

To install:
  1. Install the EVAP canister.
  2. Install the EVAP vent solenoid valve.
  3. Install the fuel sender assembly.
  4. Install the fuel and/or EVAP pipe assembly.
  5. Connect the EVAP vapor pipe to the fuel sender assembly.
  6. Connect the fuel feed and fuel return pipes at the fuel sender.
NOTE Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
  7. Install the fuel sender shield to the fuel tank and tighten the shield nuts to 53 inch lbs. (6 Nm).
  8. Connect the fuel tank wiring harness to the fuel sender assembly.
  9. With the aid of an assistant, position and support the fuel tank.
NOTE Do not bend the fuel tank straps. Bending the fuel tank straps may damage the straps.
  10. Install the fuel tank retaining strap attaching bolts and tighten the fuel tank retaining strap bolts to 35 ft. lbs. (47 Nm).
  11. Install the EVAP canister retaining nut and tighten the retaining nut to 53 inch lbs. (6 Nm).
  12. Connect the fuel tank filler pipe to the fuel tank and tighten the fuel tank filler pipe hose clamp to 22 inch lbs. (2.5 Nm).
  13. Connect the fuel feed pipe quick-connect fitting at the inlet side of the fuel filter.
  14. Connect the fuel return pipe quick-connect fitting near the fuel filter.
  15. Connect the fuel tank EVAP pipe quick-connect fitting near the fuel filter.
  16. Connect the fuel tank wiring harness connector at the body pass-through.
  17. Lower the vehicle.
  18. Add fuel and reinstall the fuel tank filler pipe cap.
  19. Connect the negative battery cable.
  20. Inspect for fuel leaks with the following procedure:
    1. Turn ON the ignition for 2 seconds.
    2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
    3. Turn ON the ignition.
    4. Inspect for fuel leaks.

El fuel pump

IT might be either in the boot on top of tank OR on the rear of tank,
If on rear then drain at least 1/2 the tank out before undoing the clip ring which turns to the l/h/ to undo use a small piece of copper or brass or even good piece of timber but not steel ..
Undo and take out pump and filter To check pump wipe clean and dry and let it dry out for about 1/2 hr before fitting battery power to it for checking and if dont sound good straight away or the filter is dirty then new one is the answer..
REPLACE IT in the reverse of removal and make sure that the petrol pipes are fitted tight.
When you take the pipes off the back of pump then fit something in pipes to stop the loss of petrol .
