Valet key won't open door or trunk but starts ignition fine
Some times ignitions get replaced and the door locks do not match the key for the ignition. if any of your other keys work in both its not the case. if you only have the one key have an automotive locksmith code cut a key off your VIN and chances are it will only work in your doors and trunk.
Not sure about the door... but a valet key is just that. it should allow a 'valet', person other than you, to drive your car without having access to any storage areas. therefore you can lock valuables in the trunk. the system should also disable any electronic trunk switches with that key in the ignition.

I found the automatic key in my wife's car. Thanks
SOURCE: when starting the car...trunk opens..when turning
has the dash been pulled apart? any reason why there would be wires crossed? i have heard of someone having their trunk pop when starting their car, but they put the dash from an mk4 in their mk3, and crossed a couple wires. as far as the stalling, it is most likely because your alarm is going off. your best bet, is to take it to a mechanic, unless you are good with wiring, and either have them rewire the alarm, because somewhere there is a loose connection, and it's tripping itself, or have them snip the alarm all together.

Welcome to Fixya
You might be experiencing three problems here.
1) A bad key/lock: It is not likely that the tumblers in the lock have worn down but it is possible that the lock is dirty or is not lubricated right. Try spraying WD-40 into the lock and on the locking mechanism that actually locks the door (the claw that hold the door shut)
2) You have a bad linkage. Inside the door everything is attached and at times it comes apart or dislodged. Sometimes you can have a plastic retaining piece or or attaching piece that has become brittle. You can take off the door panel and get a good idea of how thing work by moving the inside handle or using the power locks. If every thing is connected in the linkage then...
3) You have a bad actuator. This is the actual electronic piece that locks and unlocks the door. It is usually on the inside left bottom (if looking from the inside). It can wear out and allow certain parts of the lock to work (ie key less entry, inside door handle, power locks) while giving difficulties to other part (ie the key)

SOURCE: locked master key in trunk,
The back seat should fold down to allow you to access the trunk of you have the 1998 - 2005 model. I am not sure of later models.
