SOURCE: my epc light went on in my 2002 volkswagen jetta

Take it to the dealer, the EPC warning light - and even more the failsafe run which doesn't allow you drive faster than 20mph) is an indication of serious motor troubles. They can read the ECU faultcodes, which should be a good startingpoint for troubleshooting the cause ...

You could do some basic troubleshooting like checking the air filter, the oil level, the spark plugs, etc. You didn't fill it up with bad gas, did you ? And does the engine make strange noises/vibration when running idle ? In case you fixed some obvious cause, you can dis- and reconnect the battery to erase the engine's faultcode. If it's not fixed, the EPC (and failsafe run) will simply come on again.

My advice would be not to drive it untill it's fixed to prevent more potential damage.

SOURCE: epc light just came on 2003 jetta, what is epc?

Electronic Power Control. It controls the power to the wheels to keep them from skidding by keeping them at the same speed. It works best in the snow/ice/and mud. It gives the driver more control of the car in extreme situations. ABS keep you from skidding in a stop, and EPC keeps you from skidding under acceleration.
The car will drive like a normal car with out it. The problem can be found by using a VAG scan tool. It could be a wheel sensor, or the module.
Good Luck!

I have a 2003vw jetta the epc light is on and the will not come out of park nor the stop lights come on,I have already changed the brake switch and still won't work..

EPC light should have nothing to do with the shift interlock,(EPC is traction control) should be a small cap or plug on the console, near the shifter that has the interlock disengage button, usually done with a key, check shift interlock in the owners manual.

05 jetta 2.5 accelerating problem, epc light come on from time to time, check engine light code reads secondary air injection system incorrect flow and just the other day the traction control light ca

first time the secondary air problem tells you to take the car to a shop, but you skip that, then the epc light turns on because the system detects that you did not fix it, then the computer lock the throttle body, that is call (safe mode or limp mode) to make you fix the problem, so to fix the throttle you need to reprogram it with a scanner that is capable to do a bidirectional function .then you can fix the secondary air injection.

EPC light is not coming on when I turn on the ignition in my 2006 Jetta

Well the EPC light is for electronic power or pedal control, which refers to the gas pedal and throttle body. The light can come on for a number of reasons including issues with the fly-by-wire gas pedal, throttle body, cruise control, brake light switch, and others.
Not coming on when you turn the key on for a test could be a blown fuse for the computer since the EPC light is not on a fuse. You may have to check them all to make sure. Of course the bulb could be out too.

EPC LIGHT WONT STOP in my 02 Jetta

When was the last time you changed your Air filter( A dirty filter can put MAF sensor out of range). How about the fuel filter (Fuel starvation). These filters should be changed every 30,000 miles . It is normal for all of the dash lights to come on if the engine stops running. Is the Jetta a Diesel or Gas. Perform The OBDII scan again to see if current faults are present. Do the cheapest fixes first. Also check oil often. The low oil sensor will trigger engine shut down if more than 1 quart low

What does the EPC light control on a 2002 Jetta 2.0? Also, the radio stations do not come in very clear, any suggestions?

it's a traction control for driving in snowy climates you can turn it off and able to spin the wheels more freely but i suggest leaving it on,as for the radio i'd check the antenna if screwed in tight or missing if tight take it to the dealership if still under warrenty from the factory
