If you have a multimeter, check the battery charge level. Check the wires to the starter. Make sure the connections are clean and tight. Check the wire to the starter solenoid for 12volts when the key is turned to the crank position. If you have 12volts there, I'd pull the starter and test it.

Difficultly starting 2011 ford ranger, will attempt at starting and then go to the clicking sound. Would you be able to assist me with this problem?

Sounds like either a dead battery or a faulty alternator. Go to an auto parts store like Auto Zone and ask if they can check your battery and your alternator.

Good Luck!

My 1991 non-turbo Mercury Capri started fine last night but while idling, the Air Bag light began to flash and the Battery light came on. Not wanting to travel I turned off the ignition switch. ...

charge the battery and once fully charged, do a LOAD test on it, clean all the connections and start the car ,, check the voltage at the battery posts with the car running, you should get between 13.5 and 14.5 volts, if not, replace the alternator , if you do, the battery and the cables just needed some attention

My 2005 hyundai elantra wont start

Sounds to me like your charging system failed and you now have a dead battery.
You will likely need to replace your alternator.

Car wont start, battery i believe is still good

Hi!
This is a good indication that your battery has a bad cell (or more) and needs replacement. Funny you should mention it but the exact same thing happened to me this week, so I had the dealership check the battery (as the car is still under warranty) and at first, when I had just arrived, the battery checked out "good". I explained that I had just ran for over 30 minutes at 70Mph, so it would have charged up some. They left the acc on, turned on the lights and the radio, waited for a mere 3 minutes, and then tried to start the vehicle. This time, the vehicle did the clicking sound and did not crank. When they checked the battery again, the tester showed the battery was only 10.7 volts (should be 12v or above, most of the time reads closer to 14v...)

Hope that helps...
