My srs light is on after install raido

thats the anti theft and would be near impossable to remove , contact a dealer as there is most likely a way to reset the anti theft

If the srs light is on than there is a problem with the srs system. If the system completed its self check upon startup the light would go out. You can spend a couple grand for a scan tool capable of reading and clearing the codes or spend a hunderd bucks or so to have it checked out. The hundred dollars doesn't seem so bad once it's in perspective.

as the seats have the sensors for the airbags,if you have not connected these up then the srs light will burn.if you have wired them up they will need to be reset at a dealer.

This can not be reset by conventional methods. This must be done through a scan tool. Usually only the dealer scan tool will communicate with the SRS module. If the SRS light is on you have other issues and they must be remedied before the light will go out. There is no way of knowing what the issue is without running codes with the scan tool.

try disconecting negative battery terminal for a few seconds

Supplemental restraint system warnig light should be checked by dealer to make sure that it is not just a reset problem.Ask the dealer if disconnecting the battery could have caused this. People who install stereos usually don't have factory training on air bags When the srs light is on the air bag system is non functioning. Please have it checked.

Without going to a dealer, you need to get a scan tool to reset the srs light. Go to an Autozone store, They will scan it and reset it free of charge.

sorry but your going to have to take it to the dealer to get that light reset.

It is my understanding that the SRS is a dealer only reset because it requires a code that is proprietory to MB dealers only. Now, a garage with a good scanner (loaded with applicable MB program) may be able to reset it for cheaper than a dealer. Nonetheless, I do not believe you can reset it on your own.

A side note, as long as the SRS light is on, your airbag and/or belt tensioners may not work if you're in a collision.

I have 2002 Odyssey( 59000 miles without warranty). Several months ago the SRS light stayed on after I started the car. Some people said the dealers usually charge $ 80 to 95 to reset the light. Today I sent the car to dealer. After checking the car, they told me the car is under warranty, the parts and repairing are free.
