The correct camshaft timing causes backfiring into the valves, and setting it back to what it had been causes the car to have no power or torque.
Make sure the mark on the crank shaft TDC indicator are correct. Remove number one spark plug use screwdriver to feel that the piston is at TDC by moving the crankshaft back and forward and checking the mark , there will be no movement of the piston with slight movement of the crankshaft when at TDC. Now turn the camshaft till the rear cylinder inlet and exhaust are just rocking . ( open and closing) Cam shaft gear should line up . Timing should be ok. Turn motor two complete turns and re check.
What was the problem with the car that camshaft timing was changed.a bit off history of car and will try give some advice
