Well this is obviously an electrical gremlin, which I have had to deal with before. has anyone recently done any work on the cars electrical system...this would include a new radio/speaker system? If not you need to trace out the electrical wiring going to and from the transmission. Check for pinched wires, chafed wires and loose contact points including grounding studs and any electrical connectors that may have got moisture/water in them. Another thing is to make sure the proper fuses with proper ratings are installed also. Hope this helps!

sounds like a bad ground wire,also chech theelectrical plug connection at the throttle body.
remove that plug and plug it back in.
the 3 ltr and above engines are notorious for having this problem.Gary

Your auto transmission is unable to select gears properly because the input speed is missing. Probably means a new input speed sensor or wiring repair is required.

Sounds like either a bad plug or wire, replace both.

They are very easy to find online. Just google wiring diagram for the make and model.
