SOURCE: what is the rocker arm torque (ft/lbs.) for a 1995

OK here you go. there are three different engine codes for that model and engine size. first is the D15Z1. This one is 14ft.lbs. Then you have D15B7 and D15B8 these two are the same at 16ft.lbs.

SOURCE: 95 Civic with D15B7 1.5 16 valve engine

tap them lighty on each side with a small hammer and take two phillips screwdrivers and put them into the two bolt holes on each cap squeeze the two screwdrivers together and pull back and forth and side to side, also make sure you have all the bolts out of the caps before proceding with this there are little dowels under each cap that center them they are stuck at the bottom you may also try a very fine flat screwdriver to pry up on the caps on the bottom you could carefully tap it in under the cap with a small hammer, please rate -jeff

SOURCE: P 2647"A" Rocker Arm Actuator

Your going to need a air pressure regulator or better yet if the ECM found fault price it and replace it

  1. Start the engine, and let it run for 5 minutes, then turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  2. Remove the cylinder head cover.
  3. Set the No. 1 piston at top dead center (TDC).
  4. Move the intake secondary rocker arm A for the No. 1 cylinder. The secondary rocker arm A should move independently of the secondary rocker arm B.
    1. If the intake secondary rocker arm A moves freely, go to step 5.
    2. If the intake secondary rocker arm A does not move, remove the secondary rocker arms as an assembly, then check that the pistons in the secondary rocker arms move smoothly. If any rocker arm needs replacing, replace the secondary rocker arms as an assembly, then retest.
    3. Repeat step 4 on the remaining intake secondary rocker arms with each piston at TDC. When all the secondary rocker arms pass the test, go to step 6.
    4. Check that the air pressure on the shop air compressor gauge indicates over 400 kPa (4.0 kgf/cm2, 57 psi).
    5. Inspect the valve clearance.
    6. Install a 10 x 1.0 mm adapter to the inspection hole, then connect the air pressure regulator
  5. With the specified air pressure applied, move the intake secondary rocker arm A for the No. 1 cylinder. The secondary rocker arm A and secondary rocker arm B should move together. If the intake secondary rocker arm A does not move, remove the secondary rocker arms as an assembly, and check that the pistons in the secondary rocker arms move smoothly. If any rocker arm needs replacing, replace the secondary rocker arms as an assembly, then retest.

SOURCE: there was a water contamination on the rocker arm and top of the rocker arm cover. But the oil on the crankcase has no water contamination does this mean i need to chnge my cylinder head. Please advis

Usually if there is water or moisture in the valve cover but not in the crankcase, you have a venting problem (PCV) or the engine is not warming up to operating temp.

SOURCE: wrecked and broke rocker arm on my HONDA CIVIC

first for some clarification .1. it is not a rocker arm it is a control arm,or another name is (A arm)because it is usualy shaped like the letter A.. 2.a rocker arm is in the top of the head on the motor. 3. DO NOT TRY TO BEND OR HEAT AND BEND IT BACK IN PLACE. you are asking for a early death bed...... BBBUUUUTTTT you can go to your local parts house and order one for around 150-200 bucks. or go to your local salvage yard for about 50-75 dollars.

I have a KIA Sedona, 2004, was driving it when it died and would not restart. was told may be timing chain. However all pullies turn when cranked.

Of course all the pulleys still turn when you crank it over even if you have a broken timing chain. The trick is to look and see if the CAM is turning. Remove the oil filler cap and see if the rocker arm is moving up and down. If that doesn't let you see the rocker arms, pull a valve cover. If valves are bent, when you hold a removed spark plug against the seat, it won't poof your hand back with the compression. When you have the valve cover off, you might be able to see the bent valve. The rocker arm will be sloppy loose.

Oil in spark park plugs

You have leaking spark plug grommet/seals under the valve cover, and most likely being a 91, also have leaking cam tower o-rings. The first is just a matter of replacing the valve cover gasket set. The second requires removal of the cam tower/rocker arm shaft assy. to access the o-ring seals between them and the head. If you are not an experience mechanic, I do not recommend doing this yourself. It is easy to damage parts and bend valves if you don't seat it properly.

2004 Cavalier broken rocker arms after head gasket repair.

Rocker arm issues are common in that car. They can happen without any reason. This is not going to be cheap to look at. When the head was repaired it had to be removed. The timing chain might not have been properly tensioned. That would cause the timing chain to slip and then you have pistons slapping valves and spark plugs. This cause rocker arms and pushrods to bend or break and also can damage pistons.

My 1990 chevy cheyenne pickup will turn over but wont start, it has a 4.3 liter v6.

Have you sprayed just a "touch" of starting fluid in the air ram, that takes the air to the throttle body. If you do that & it fires, you have a fuel delivery problem. If that fails, do you have spark?? That can easily be checked, by placing the "inductive arm"over any plug wire, attach to the battery & crank. DON'T worry about timeing, YET. If when the engine cranks, trigger pulled on the timing light & hthe light "flickers", your getting spark. The only thing left then, would be that you could have thrown a timing chain. Removing the oil fill cap, see if using a narrow light, if you can see a rocker arm/ Then have an assistant crank the motor, & see if they move. If that is in accessable, remove a valve cover, lay a towel, cloth over the top of the rockers that contact the push rods, (unless you like an oil bath,,,ha,ha) . But, seriously, then have an assistant crank the motor, NO MOTION= Thrown timing chain.

How to remove rocker arm cover, to change spark plugs.

You shouldn't need to remove the rocker arm cover/valve cover. All you should need is a long extention with the spark plug socket on the end of it and just put it down in the hole. You didn't mention the model or year of your hyundai but in many of the Hyundais, this is the case. I know in all cases the valve cover does not need to be removed in order to change the plugs. I hope this helps you and good luck.

Oil get into spark plug well. need to know how to replace the valve cover gasket on a 2003 dodge intrepid sxt . clean sparkplugs well of all oil and replaced sparkplugs

Hi
these are the things you need to do.

Allow the car engine to cool by letting the car sit idle for several hours. Lift the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the upper intake manifold assembly. Using the spark plug tool, remove the spark plugs. Disconnect the spark plug wires. This can be accomplished by pulling straight out on the boot. Locate the cylinder head and disconnect the closed ventilation system and evaporation control system from it.

Locate the left cylinder head cover and remove the DIS coil. Using the wrench, loosen and remove the rocker arm cover mounting bolts. Carefully remove the rocker arm cover from the cylinder head. Remove the gasket cover. Using the screwdriver, gently nudge the gasket to remove it from the seating area.

Using the automotive cleaner, remove any particles, oil or other remnants that were left by the old gasket. Place the new gasket in the gasket seating area. Using the torque wrench, tighten the rocker arm cover fasteners. Reverse the steps used to remove the parts

Complete the maintenance by adding oil to the car and allowing it to run idle for 10 to 15 minutes.

Oil keep getting on spark plugs and car will not start.I replaceed valve cover gasket but oil continue to get on plugs.I did leave off small o- ring.I did not know where they go.

You should replace the rocker arm seal. Remove valve cover and take off the rocker arm assembly. There is about a 2" O'ring for each plug port.
