Alarm key fob set off alarm

You can activate the alarm by opening the door window, close the door, set the alarm and then reach in an open the door. The alarm will register that as an intrusion and activate the alarm.

Nissan P1614 is not quite so easy.

The P1614 fault code is set because there's a problem with the Nissan Anti-Theft System. Typically this code is triggered because a damaged or unregistered key FOB was used in an attempt to start the engine. It signifies that the IMMU (immobilizer control unit) cannot read the key ID signal. In other instances, it means something more severe is wrong with the immobilizer or ECM itself. Check the fuse; if that's OK, then try a new battery in the FOB. If the FOB is defective, you'll have to buy a new one and get it registered by a locksmith or a Nissan dealer.

Get a locksmith to make a key for the door. that's the only way to disarm factory alarm is by unlocking the door with a key

If the battery is definitely good, it is possible that the contacts on your fob for the open door command are dirty or wearing out..

Those fobs are inordinately expensive for what they are so it behooves you to check it out first.

The key cylinder for the door has a magnetic switch attached to it that sends a disarm signal to the alarm system. If the magnet fell out or wires broke that would explain this incedent.

The alarm is armed if keyfob is used. So you must use the fob to disarm alarm first. So someone can not unlock and open door without keyfob or alarm will be set off.

Try with brand new key fob battery and see.If that helps.
Otherwise May be keyfob needs to be reprogrammed.

KEYFOB PROGRAMMING

Keyfob remote reprogramming is not very difficult but on some cases it can be done by dealer service tools.

If the remote s faulty then key fob will not get programmed.

Insert the key in ignition. Turn the key to on position, and cycle the key three times off-on-off-on-off-on. Then with the key fob remote select your remote and then try to operate the vehicle with remote.

These are just the basic procedure, but sometimes it will not help.

On that case dealer is the only option.

Open the door and immediately place the key in the ignition, that will shut off the alarm. The batteries in the Keyfob are probably dead and need to be replaced. You will see that the keyfob can be opened, though do it carefully, and you can replace the batteries. This will fix the remote. You may also have a valet button in the car which temporarily disables the alarm and will keep the alarm from sounding if the door is opened.

The key fob is the remote. But the remote type that works like a key. The remotes that you just need to carry on you to start the car or truck. That is a Key Fob.

Your key fob needs reprogramming, and yes the alarm will go off when you open the door, but you have enough time to put the key in the ignition which will prevent the alarm sounding. Car is usable until you get the fob sorted by locking and unlocking using the key.
