Pull the speedometer cable out of the transmission and spin it by hand while someone watches the speedometer. Spin it both directions to make sure you are spining it the right way. If the speedometer moves the problem is either the gear in your hand of the gear in the transmission. If it doesn't spin either the cable is no good or maybe unhooked in the dashboard
I guess you mean the speedometer isnt working? It could be a couple of things. 1. the actual speedometer cable is broke. If electronic it is probly your VSS. typically located on the trans towards the output shaft. You will need to ohm it out and check against spec.
Are both out of the same year? Are they both mechanical or electric? Sounds like if they are electric, the sensor is not reading. If it is mechanical, you don't have the speedometer cable hooked up correctly.

I had the same problem on 1991 Honda Accord! It was the old AT fluid. I changed the fluid and all problems vanished! I had asked a Honda mechanic at first problem and he said make sure the AT fluid is good! Happy Honda Owner
