Removing dashboard need to replace evaporator

On what? Front or rear? You will have to evacuate the AC system using a recovery machine. Most evaporator cores are labor intensive involving the entire dash assembly of the vehicle to be removed for access/replacement. Not a job for anyone who does not have mechanical experience in Ac repairs

Yes First remove glove box and lower hush panel the fan motor is in its own separate housing usually held on by 4 12mm nuts it is a trick to get it out from under the dash some times you have to remove the floor carpet.

You will need to have a factory service manual to do this, no way around this if you want to do it in less than a week. You need to remove the entire dash and cut open the heater box, it is a real pita. You can download one here. Are you sure the evaporator is the cause, make sure of this because it is a part that rarely fails. I have done 3 in 35 years

Its a big job, The heater box needs to come out, which entails discharging the AC, removing heater hoses, and hardware at the firewall. The complete dashboard needs to be removed and swung out of the way, steering column lowered , and heater box removed and disassembled for evap replacement ( simplified )

Well, the evaporator is located behind the console and dashboard, and requires a complete disassembly of the dash board area.

It's possible for one technician to do it, but the last time I saw one done was at my local a/c garage. They were working on the city's vehicle, and it was a Dodge Dakota, late model.

It had the same problem as yours, a leaky evaporator.

They had about 30 hours into it at $50 per hour. The evaporator
was cheap, but the labor to change it is not.

The expansion valve is located in the High Pressure line very close to the evaporator, in the evaporator/blower housing under dashboard passanger side. To access it, need to remove evaporator.

that is normal for bmw to remove the dashboard when replace the cooling coil. just the prob is when resetup the dashboard sometime some electronic function will be lost cause of poor connection.
so makesure the expert do the jobs. tq

The Heater core is behind the dashboard next to the evaporator.The dash needs to come out, then you can remove the evaporator/heater core housing.

your bearing failed and is causeing friction replace motor

You need to get a manual for the correct procedure of taking the dashboard out.
