What year? some engines have a"cold start injector" in the intake manifold. find it , check it , replace it and the fuel filter. also check fuel pressure, a weak or bad fuel pump may be the problem

Testimonial: "Thanks a week fuel pump and a lose cold start sensor were the cause."

SOURCE: How do I change the starter in a 2000 Toyota Camry LE

i'm sure it's not the starter itself that is the problem, have the stater's solenoid checked...it might be stucked. It's quite a lot of work removing the starter but you can do it if you are willing enough to learn. You just need the right idea and tools to do it. Hope this will help save you bucks!

SOURCE: 87 'C' Class motorhome powered by a ford 460

I had same problem in varius trucks and motorhomes with the same engine size (460)and this is caused by excesive heat from the engine in all 460's,when hot if I stoped at a gas station to fill, once I tryed to start it again it felt like the battery was almost dead and bearly turned the engine over.what I did was that I added an after market engine oil cooler and that fixed the problem.

SOURCE: My 1996 model Toyota Landcruiser is giving me starting problem

Your diesel land cruiser has a separate glow plug for each cylinder. Their function is to pre heat a swirl chamber prior to injecting fuel into the cylinder. Since you have no spark on a diesel, your combustion comes from superheated fuel and high compression...for you vehicle I believe the compression ratio is 21.6:1 as compared to 8.0:1 for a gasoline model. If you are not getting combustion readily, then either the glow plugs are not getting the fuel preheated properly before starting, or your compression is low. I would tend to believe it is a glow plug issue since they only stay on for a second. Good Luck! I hope you find this to be very helpful!

1989 Toyota FJ62 is hard to start after sitting several days. Starts easy after warmed up. The engine turns for several minutes without firing. Could this be the injector or fuel pump?

fj 60 series 2f and 3f petrol en gines always ,going back to the first of these motors have alway s been a problem to start particularly hot ,over several days fuel can drain back from the fuel pump.BUT I am a liile confused, you say,FJ 62, THAT IS APETROL ENGINE WITH A CARBURETTER. yet you speak of injectors,if it is a DIESELmotor the vehicle is HJ60 with a 2h motor ,if it is a HJ62 then it will have a 12HT TURBO diesel motor,I can tell you where to look to solve the problem no problem at all, but i need an accurate description of the vehicle as they are all different engines

2003 toyota avensis diesal . dificult starting from initial start

I am assuming this a cold weather only issue ?? Turn your key to on before cranking it over for about 5 sec to let the glow plug heat up a moment. Not allowing the glow plug to warm will wear out your starter.
