clicking usually sounds like a starter sometiimes when they start going bad it gets stuck that's why u only hear clicking, try tapping it with a steel bar or something it worked for me wen my car was doing that, and what u mentioned about the battery it might be that is not holding charge even if u try jump starting it

There is a 12mm wire or gauge on battery that is causing my mountaineer not to start. how can i find it with my eyes and where is it?

who sed there is any kinda wire on the battery? if u can't see it , it ain't there?! try this! take all the extra stuff off the key ring, so that u r only holding the key and the keyfob.[keyfob= KLICKER] now start the car? if there is still a no-start condition, then reprogram the key/and fob.PROCEDURE: insert key with fob only. switch the key off/on 8 times. when u r on the 8th time in the ON POSITION, hold down any button the keyfob and hold down for a count of 30. then turn off; take out of key slot. then put back-in and see if this will start the car. it worked for my 2002 explorer!. lol.

12 mm gauge

Wire is measured in gauge. Check both terminal conectoins(ends) on both wires for tightness and corrosion.
