Most of the time this problem is caused by a clogged drain in the housing under the windshield wipers. In this same housing is usually where the air gets sucked in for the blower fan on your ac/heat system. What you need to do is remove the windshield wipers and then remove the plastic grate under the wipers. Then clean out all of the debris,leafs,dirt,etc...

SOURCE: Water leak on the passenger rug

You may have a buildup of A/C condensate water in the A/C cooler box. Start the car up, and run the A/C; you should start to see water dripping out from under the car onto the street. If not, the A/C condensate tube may be blocked or dislodged from the A/C box. The water then leaks out of the box onto your floor. The drain is on the pass side, under the dash, close to the center console. The pipe goes thru the body. This is a very common issue.

SOURCE: Interior Carpet Getting Wet

It sounds like a plugged drain line from the air conditioner. Most cars now run in the a/c mode whenever u turn on the climate control (even when heat is on). The passenger side front is where it would be wet, and the carpet and carpet pad act like a sponge and will soak up the water. Let me know how u make out.

SOURCE: Water leak on driver's side - 2000 Mitsubishi Galant

I was a manager at a Mitsubishi dealership.

There was a "secret warranty" on certain Galants where the firewall seam would fair and leak water into the interior. Call your local dealer to see if your vin qualifies. The fix is to simply reseal the firewall crimp seam with silicone sealant.

Alternatively, sunroof equipped cars sometimes get the drain channels clogged in time. Make sure to clean drain holes and use forced air if necessary.

Lastly, some cars have heaters with pollen filters. If those filters become clogged, condensation can accumulate and overflow into the interior.

If any of these solves your issue, please rate my answer

SOURCE: Front passenger side carpet getting wet

The AC evaporator units have a drain hose that runs through the floor because condensed moisture is a fact of life with AC units. Yours is plugged. You will have to get under the vehicle and look for the hose where it comes out, then take like coat hanger wire and clean it out, It is somewhere in the vicinity of where the passenger foot well meets the fire wall. If you have to raise the vehicle to get under it, make certain you have it safely supported. If you don't have the stuff, drive the passenger side wheels up on a good curb and use some cardboard to slide under.

SOURCE: Water leaks in the back passenger side of 2007 Equinox.

The spare tire well is pooling water, check there. GM knows about it, but won't say it's a factory defect. Sorry, I'm in the same boat you are. See here: http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/Bluegorilla/2008-10-09_134337_08-08-057-001a.pdf

Has anyone had water soaked passenger side floor mats and rug for 2011 Bz?

Hi,

This is of concern.....especially if no recent rain.

Your vehicle is covered by warranty and should be checked by your local BMW dealership.

If there has not been any rain, but your floor is wet....it's possible your heater radiator core (radiator) under the dash, is leaking.

Seek immediate attention.

Cheers,

My mdx is a 2001. the rug in the front driver side and passenger side is soakiing wet, its been rainy lately but not sure if this is rain doing it or is something leaking from my engine?

This may sound a little gross, but put your finger in it and touch it to the tip of your tongue. If it has a real sweet tate, it is antifreeze. In this case, you need to replace your heater core. If it just tastes like rain water, then it could be Coming from the windshield, the roof, the cowl area, or even the passenger door. I did search for Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) for your vehicle and found none pertaining to a known possible source of a water leak. Water leaks can be very frustrating when it comes to locating the exact source. You must just follow the water trail until you find the entry point.

A 1996 Buick Century Costom with a wet floor (a puddle of water)in the back seat. I have mystery water in my passenger back seat. I have poured water on the car to dupicate rain and find the leak. The door...

You forgot to add WIND to your experiment! Poured water is not driven water and sometiomes the pressure and VACUUM of the moving vehicle is the problem. As you drive a vacuum is created around any area not directly exposed to the airflow. This can "pull-up" seals that are tight when you are still, and also there is a possiblity that the water came from underneath your car!!

Drivers side rug wet--water leak???

Can you feel up wards of the water to see if its coming from your vents?Possible drain clog.In the cowl fresh air is pulled in for your air conditioner.Rain and snow get in thru there too and are drained out the bottom.Open your hood and look at the area where the heater hoses go in,near the bottom of the housing is the drain. When you clean it out don't push in the hole to far so you don't pierce the condenser or heater core. The only other thing that I can think of for a leak would be the windshield seal.
