Radio went dead then next day the keyremote stopped working.

I first realised that there was no clock display and on checking found that the radio did not work. Then the following day the key remote for the door lock and the door open buzzer failed to work.

I have checked all lights and indicators, which I am happy to add are ok and the car drives fine. However, if possible would you please let me know if this is a serious problem and if I take the car on a long journey.
Thank you

No at all it is a very small problem i think you will find taht the lighter also didnt work you have to change a fuse see your fuse box in the hood and see where is the radio or clock anything that can mate with one of the problem and you will find spare fuses in this box see also fuses in car manual and change it but see the no. of the fuse and everthing will be normal

I have a 1990 ck 1500. a couple of weeks ago I was headed out the driveway, it was a rainy day, I hit my headlights and my radio went out.I immediatly turned off my lights and my clock was re-set at...

On the components, you might try a separate ground. See if that helps? Check the battery negative connections. I've seen this even on newer vehicle where instrument cluster or whatever would dim a little when you turn on headlamps. I think it's a ground issue? Just my opinion.
On any component that doesn't work, check voltage and ground, you could try a redundant ground.

Dashboard clock has stopped working, the display has stopped working, can it be fixed ?

There are 2 fuses linked to the clock; 1 is connected to the radio and the other to the gauges. If the radio and gauges work then the clock is dead, it is a very common issue with these clocks. I have a repair service, check out www.autoclockrepair.com. I have removal instructions, etc there. Please le tme know if you have any questions, I would be happy to assist, thanks!

My 2001 durango stereo worked fine on the way home from work. The next morning, neither the clock or the radio would operate and they have not since then. Radio fuse in panel next to drivers door is good.

I have the same problem, after couple days of not driving it the battery went dead. After charging it back up the radio worked again, but then started doing some other freaky things. Any solutions out there?

HI, my renault clio radio and clock display are dead

Hi All, the very same thing happened to me. Cold weather broke my radio and the display screen stayed on with the time and temperature but the radio wouldn't work. I rang Renault & they said I need to come in an get a new radio but I put it off. In the end the problem started affecting my battery and the car wouldn't start. But then when I jump started it, it also started the radio again perfectly. Problem solved!
Hope this helps. Good luck!

My Radio and clock screen has went blank volume and controls do not work the clock does not work the radio plays and CD plays but screen is dead. 2001 525I BMW

it sounds like the Multi information display has failed (MID). It is the long display with all the radio controls on it. If you want to find a known good part they are really easy to swap out. Just remove the radio knob and if you look down in there, there is a place to put a T10 (i think maybe bigger or smaller) torx T10 screwdriver.if you turn it while pulling back slightly on the screwdriver it should come right out. It usually is the component that fails but as always you may want to check your fuses.
