How much gas is left in my 2001 Buick Regal when the chime rings?

I'm in a very small town and my trips are usually no more than 2 miles. For some reason the chime always tends to ring at the end of the month when I'm broke. I've read the manual but it doesn't SAY how much gas is left when the chime rings. Can you tell me approximately how far I can go? Thanks!

I beleive there are 3 gallons left when the chime sounds. There is a button on dash that shows range. This was my mother's car, we no longer have it. Otherwise I would go out and look. I know there was a "range" display though.

I have been thinking more about this issue. There is a button on dash that says "mode" if you press through it eventually the "range" will come up. It will also tell you the gas milage you are getting as well as gallons remaining. I hope this info helps.

Not keeping your fuel tank above at least 1/4 is asking for trouble. The fuel pump needs the fuel in the tank to keep the pump from overheating. Also, its just as cheap to fill the tank from 1/2 to full as it is to fill it from E to 1/2. The benefit is that your fuel pump lasts a lot longer with the pump fully submerged in fuel. If you think keeping the tank at least half full is expensive, wait until your pump burns out.

SOURCE: 2003 BUICK REGAL TRANSMISSION PROBLEM.

This is a common problem on some GM cars. There is a pressure control valve in the side cover of the transmission that needs to be replaced. The transmission does not have to be rebuilt. You will need to get a side cover gasket also.

Usually the source of the leak is the gas cap (either loose or defective) but if that doesn't apply to your issue then the canister is next to the gas tank.

check sensor on reservoir. Unplug connector to sensor to see if light goes out. If yes, replace sensor. If no, wire may be shorted.

A few problems with my 92 buick regal. 1. Doesn't always start on the first try and I have to give it some gas when I turn the key. 2. Courtesy lights and chime won't turn off when key is ou

The no start on the first try could be low fuel pressure. The check valve in the pump may be letting fuel drain back into the tank, or the pump relay may be bad. The pump gets power from the relay when you turn the key on, then from the oil pressure switch once the engine starts.
