Just replaced the clutch. and i bled the clutch and now i cant shift into gears when i start the car. what is going on here?
SOURCE: 92 paseo 5 speed manual will only shift when car is not running
sounds like the clutch isnt engaging at all...is there a different sound in engine rpm when car is at idle and the clutch is pressed and released? Check clutch cable.
WITH ENGINE ON & RUNNING and you are able to shift to any & or all Gears and with this theres,
No Clutch Engagement Upon Releasing Clutch
With Info Provided seems that you have 1 or all 3
of the Fallowing and they all Should be Replaced as A Set even if on lt 1 of them has Failed
All Require Removal Of Transmission this is the reasoning for Replacing all as SET with the Labor cost if your replace only 1 Item, and 3 Months later another of the 3 components Fail, you have the same Labor cost to PAY.
This Solution is Answering the SOLE Question ask, Barring No other Problems have or did Happen such as Noises Ran out Of Trans Lube. if it is the Clutch that has Failed and you are unable to Perform the Repair yyourself, DO SHOP AROUND get 5 or more Estimates as the Fee Will Vary Sometimes very wide gaps in fee's
and also Try and Purchase the Parts yourself Due to the Tremendous Markup of parts at Shops
I Hope I have Answered you Question to your satisfaction and if you have any more questions Feel free to Ask Me
SOURCE: wont shift into gear
You can have a bad slave cylinder, the part located on the trans. or the slave actuator rod has fallen out of the yoke. The slave cylinder can by-pass within itself and not leak. So check the slave cylinder for a rod that comes out the end be sure it is in place. You can bleed the slave cylinder there is a small bleed screw on the side.

your probly not puting your clutch in all the way and not shifting fast anoth.Or it was not installed the right way and it was unbalanced so probly need to check it out or go a proformace place and have them look at it.

check your clutch safety switch. The car will not start if the clutch in not depressed. Look under dash at the clutch pedal arm. There is a switch that looks like this:

It may need to be adjusted or replaced.
