SOURCE: Head Gasket Leaking

Or you could find a local mechanic that doesn't charge an arm and leg and get it replaced for about $500. Please rate my answer so I get points for it.

What is causes of oil leakage in timing compartment

Oil leakage in the timing compartment of an engine can be caused by a variety of factors. Some common causes include:
  1. Worn or damaged valve cover gasket: The valve cover gasket is responsible for preventing oil from leaking out of the timing compartment. If this gasket becomes worn or damaged, oil can leak out of the compartment.
  2. Worn or damaged timing chain cover gasket: The timing chain cover gasket is responsible for preventing oil from leaking out of the timing compartment. If this gasket becomes worn or damaged, oil can leak out of the compartment.
  3. Worn or damaged oil pan gasket: The oil pan gasket is responsible for preventing oil from leaking out of the timing compartment. If this gasket becomes worn or damaged, oil can leak out of the compartment.
  4. Worn or damaged crankshaft seal: The crankshaft seal is responsible for preventing oil from leaking out of the timing compartment. If this seal becomes worn or damaged, oil can leak out of the compartment.
  5. Worn or damaged camshaft seal: The camshaft seal is responsible for preventing oil from leaking out of the timing compartment. If this seal becomes worn or damaged, oil can leak out of the compartment.
  6. Worn or damaged Timing chain tensioner: Timing chain tensioner is responsible for maintaining proper tension on the timing chain. If this tensioner becomes worn or damaged, oil can leak out of the compartment.
  7. Worn or damaged Timing Chain: Timing chain is responsible for maintaining proper timing of the engine. If the timing chain becomes worn or damaged, it can cause oil leakage in the timing compartment.
  8. Low oil level: If the oil level in the engine is low, it can cause oil to leak out of the timing compartment.
It's important to address oil leaks as soon as possible, as they can lead to serious engine damage if left unchecked. To determine the exact cause of oil leakage, it's best to consult with a mechanic or take the car to the service center.

If it's leaking fromnthe side, then it's the timing chain cover that needs to be fixed not the seal

Just had my 75K mile service at dealer on my 2014 Toyota Avalon. They noted small oil leak in the timing cover gasket. Estimate of 3900.00 to fix!! Help!

Is this for a gasket or for the timing chain replacement ?
It's pretty complicated engine but that seems high for just a gasket.
It may be that you were quoted for a timing chain replacement along with the gasket repair.
Ask for clarification and get a second estimate.
If it's not leaking that much and little oil spots/droplets aren't showing up on the rear of the vehicle and you check the oil all the time, $3900 will buy a lot of oil.

1992 gmc Jimmy Losing power, Check engine light on, cutting off, Idling

It looks like that the cause of your leaking pan gasket is excessive blow-by gases pressure due to worn out piston rings. The low oil level is a telltale sign the you are consuming (burning) oil because of this problem.
I recommend that you have a ring and if possible also bearing job to your engine. Merely replacing the torn out gasket will just temporary solve your leak problem. Since you will still burn oil, your emission problem will not be solved.

2004 gmc yukon lite came on low oil pressure just had oil change 5 days ago checked it was low about a qt. Has 157,000 miles what can be the cause

There can be alot of causes, such as valve covers leaking, oil pan gasket leaking, oil filter leaking, rear main seal leaking, front timing chain cover seal or gasket leaking even bad rings. Does it smoke out of the back? Your valve seals could be leaking. Best way to find out if you have a leak is to inspect the valve covers manually, or take newspapers and lay them under the entire engine on the ground, and it will leave the tell tale stain of a leak. Hope this helps.
