2000 isuzu rodeo problem

2000 rodeo runs extremely rough and dies when the transmission is put in drive or reverse. Seems to run smooth in park and neutral. Once you get through the bucking process the truck will operate at speed on the Interstate but when you slow down to stop or make a slow turn the bucking begins again. DTC's p430,p401,p402, p201-p206, p300, p128, p502.What could be the problem?

Where is the transmission position micro switch located on 2000 rodeo isuzu

hello Gary
so the easter egg hunts.
we get them endlessly here.
why not say what fails. ? first. then ask ?
so we can be on the same page.?
first off is car 2wd or 4wd????
and is it M/T box question or A/T box. (auto or stick)
its not "micro switch", at all , just a switch.
let me guess.
1: PRNDL switch and reverse bad, or? park lock out fails. or?
2: 4wd switch. ?
3: or the stick shift, reverse switch,

why must I have to guess, whats wrong.
park lock fail (shifter jammed)
cant crank
reverse lamps dead/

My Isuzu Rodeo won't shift into any gear besides park or neutral.

if the car is a auto matic start the car in park with the parking break on. under the hood you will see to dip sticks. one should be black "oil" the other yellow Transmission stick. with the car running pull the dip stick out wip off any oil on the stick. reinstall all the way pull it out again, you should have either 2 dots aproxmaintley 1" spread the top dot is where the trans mission fluied needs to be. if it is barley on the stick go to your local parts store ask what type of transmission it uses and buy a couple of quarts probley about 12.00 also get a tran. funnel to add the fluied. put a little at a time and check the stick untial it is on the top mark about2.5" from bottom of the stick. also if the fluied is not a redish color, have it changed. good luck

2000 isuzu rodeo car will not run in drive will run in reverse

***For Automatic Transmissions ONLY*** See if the Check Transmission/Check Engine light is on. If so, the likely cause is a sensor failure. If not on, the likely cause is the failure is an internal clutch problem. Only resolution is to overhaul the transmission.
