the cause for the wipers not parking is the park tab on the wiper motor bracket is bent, replace the wiper motor bracket. as for the wipers not working at all, could be a faulty part. fit your old motor back onto the new bracket and test.
unplug the wire at the wiper motor and then turn the key on and then turn the wiper switch on and test the wires at the plug with a 12 volt tester . if u dont have any thing then ur wiper switch is bad , if u have juice at the plug then it sounds like its the motor.
The park position is controlled inside the motor/actuator assembly. Not sure if it can be repaired. See if it is assembled with screws versus rivets. A new assembly is less than $100.
I had the same problem. I thought it was an issue with a blown fuse, but also noticed that the rear wiper was very stiff. I solved it by opening the rear window (so the wiper is not clicked into the motor) then squirt some WD40 into the wiper mechanism (I put the oil in from the outside). Gently move the wiper from side to side until it starts to free up - after a couple of movements the wiper should be moving freely again. No issues since.
At the same time, check that the washer jet is correctly angled. Mine was squirting directly into the wiper which may have caused it to rust up a bit.
well the good thing is you know the wipers work !! , I would start by seeing if the washer squirters work when using the Wiper lever . and I would also see if it worked on fast speed and slow speeds . If it does you may have a wiper switch that has gone bad ! ,
