Dashboard battery and break lite wont turn off. at first they would flicker if fan turned on or you hit a bump while driving. now wont turn off at all. as driving the lights on dash dimed and then car stopped running and died. waited 20 mins. and car started again and all lights brite again. lasted for about 10 mins. then began to dim again and then turned off again.
You have received the right advice above. It is a matter of alternator failure or the system not receiving the charge. It may be a loose alternator belt. It may be a bad battery. You do need to check the cables and contacts.
Combination of brake and battery light mean the alternator is not charging. after you wait for a wile the battery recover some power and will run again but as soon the power drop below 9V the engine die. Test the charging system and replace the alternator
Good Luck

Have your charging system checked...likely what killed old battery as well.
SOURCE: car dies while driving
It could be something as simple as a bad or loose ground wire but the hard part is finding it.
Good luck

SOURCE: car dies while driving battery light comes on
your alternator is not charging the battery up.
SOURCE: issue with dash lights dimming while driving,
If the battery and alternator tested fine. I would have the charging system rechecked when engine is hot and at high rpm's. This way the checks are being done as if you were driving and driving for a long time. Alternators can work fine when cold but weaken when hot or stop working. This problem is not rare but only is seen occassionly. Unless it was checked at an electrical shop the average shop doesn't run these tests for they don't see the problem often enough to automaticly run them at all times. Good luck and let me know how you make out.
SOURCE: car wont start after driveing
Next time this happens go under the car with a hammer and hit the center bottom of tank and try to start it, if it starts you have a defective electric fuel pump inside the fuel tank.
