How to remove a starter motor peugeot 207

Before getting to the removal process, make sure that you have enough time and the tools at hand, and then disconnect the battery.
You will need spanners sized at 10, 11, 12, and 14 millimeters, an eight-millimeter socket, eight milimeter Allen bolt, and small torque.
Next, get to the starter motor under the hood, beneath the diesel filter.
It can difficult to unmount it because there is barely enough room, that's why this process alone can take up to four hours.
First, unwind the starter bolts located under the hood, then do the bolts below. It goes without saying that you need your car to be raised.
Once the motor is loose, remove the wiring from the engine that may hinder the job.
Make a note of all parts and remember where they belong to help you easily reattach the motor once you have fixed the issue.

What is the basic process when the car wont start? Battery is good... I know I should check the starter next, but I'm not sure where the starter is or exactly what it looks like...

Removed starter bolts but cant get it to drop didnt know if need to take loose motor mounts to raise engine for clearance

Some times you need to move the steering in one direction or the other to get room to move the starter. Look on the New starter for a Rearward bolt coming from the Trans side. Sometimes you have 3 starter bolts.

You don't need to lift the engine.

How to remove starter motor on peugeot 307 1.6hdi 2004 model

The hard bit is getting to the starter to unscrew the bolts and getting enough room to remove it once loose. YOu will need to take off a number things from the top of the engine.

The starter is located at the front middle of the engine under the diesel filter.

You will be able get to two of the starter bolts from under the bonnet and the other from below.

You will need to loosen or remove the wiring from around the top of the engine to allow you to remove the starter once loose. (remember where all the plastic connectors reattach).

You should only attempt to do this if you are fairly confident with spanners and have a decent set. You will need 10mm, 11mm, 12mm, 14mm spanners and sockets. 8mm socket, 8mm Allen bolt (straight allen key), small torque.

It is not difficult to do the job just to get to the starter and get enough room to remove and replace. Takes about 4 careful hours start to finish for a none mechanic with car on jacks.

You should always disconnect the battery while removing any electrical/mechanical part from car for safety reasons.

This will help. Thanks please keep updated. please please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

Removing the starter motor mounting stud nut where the air pump tube bracket is also attached

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and safely support the vehicle. The starter can be removed by reaching over the crossmember.
  3. Remove the heat shield and its clamps, if so equipped.
  4. On the 2.2L and 2.5L engines, loosen the air pump tube at the exhaust manifold and move the tube bracket away from the starter.
  5. Remove the electrical connections from the starter.
  6. Remove the bolts attaching the starter to the flywheel housing and the rear bracket to the engine or transaxle.
  7. Remove the starter from the engine.

To install:
  1. Position the replacement starter against the mounting surface.
  2. Install the mounting bolts.
  3. Connect the starter wiring.
  4. On 2.2L and 2.5L engines, position the air pump tube toward the starter, then connect the tube bracket to the exhaust manifold.
  5. Install the heat shield and clamp.
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.

Hope helped with this (remember rated this help) Good luck.

Starter replacment

If you are a larger person, you will need to get the front end into the air so you can move under it. Make certain to block the wheels! I had to take off a bar that ran under my starter before I could completely remove the starter. When I took the starter off, a plate fell to the ground. I didn't know what it went to, so I didn't put it back in. I wound up having to take the starter loose again to replace the plate, turned out it was a shim and was needed to help the starter last as long as possible. Also, the first rebuilt starter I bought was faulty. All in all I had to take the starter loose three times before I was done. Works fantastic now!
