This car has very weak reception compared to my other cars. It has an embedded antenna in the rear window.

I would try a CB radio shop at a truck stop, they will have what you are looking for.

After reviewing the feedback on these postings I identified the problem them took it to my local car stereo shop. I showed them how by raising and lowering the trunk the signal went in and out. They fixed it for $60 by splicing in some new coax cable. It works great.

do you get any stations, even weak stations on the AM band? If not you have a bad radio and need replacement. Try having someone hold the antenna as you scan the AM band.

Hello
More than likely you have a poor antenna ground, the outer woven part of the antenna coaxial cable is grounded to the chassis sheet metal of the car, this may be making a poor connection or the antenna may be defective. To check the antenna ground jacket find the antenna cable under the the dash, make a small hole in plastic covering on the woven outer metal conductor with an electrical probe attached to a DVOM (Digital Volt Ohm Meter) set to the 200 Ohm scale and touch the cable and any bare metal in the car, you should have no more than 3 Ohms of resistance, if you do you either have a poorly grounded antenna or a defective antenna.
