Changed plugs change egr valve changed tps changed o2 sensor told battery and alt was good still need to pump throttle to start smell of gas is bad seems to have enough when plugs were change told they were swimming in fuel seem to not have the extra crank to start
So many possibilities and you need to do some narrowing and less parts replacement. Check fuel pressure AND see if the pressure drops off. The pressure shouldn't drop off when you shut the engine off. Are there any codes or engine lights on? I just had a PT come in and the cel bulb had been disable. After reading the code I could fix the problem. If the plugs are swimming you will have a code. If only one plug then maybe not.

YOU'RE GONNA HATE THIS BUT IT DOES SOUND LIKE A FUEL ISSUE. HOWEVER HERE'S THE CATCH.....THE FURL FILTER IS IN THE GAS TANK CONNECTED TO THE FUEL PUMP. YOU HAVE TO DROP THE TANK OR TAKE THE BED OFF TO GET TO IT. AND YOU CAN ONLY GET THE NEW FILTER AT THE DEALER. THE LOCAL PARTS STORE DOESN'T CARRY THESE. BUT I'M NOT SURE ABOUT NAPA, THEY MIGHT. YOU MIGHT ALSO WANT TO CHECK FOR A VAC. LEAK AROUND THE THROTTLE BODY. LASTLY WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU DID ANYTHING TO THE TRANS.? MIGHT WANT TO LOOK INTO THAT.

turn the key to the on position a see if you can here a buzzing sound around the fuel tank,if you don't hear a sound then. (be very careful while doing this) with the key off take a fuel line coming from the tank loose, make sure its pointed away from you and turn the key to the on position, see if any gas comes out,if not then your fuel pump is probably bad.

well it sounds to me as if the timing bet as jumped its time, mabe not much a tooth or two. but thats all it would take to make the car want to start, but it wont let the car fire properly.

Did you check to see if there is power to the glow plugs if not then that may be the problem and if there is power when you cycle the key not to start but for the plugs to warm up you may have a bad glow plugs.

Find your firewall electrical junction block (where all the wires enter the cabin on the passenger side) and with a zip tie pull up the wire bundle so it does not ride on the upper tie rods and, fasten the zip tie to anything that is solid in the engine compartment and, let me know what happens
