Radio Station Keeps Changing Automatically

One radio station keeps changing. If I turn on the radio station, about 10-15 seconds later, the radio retunes itself and moves to a different station. The radio station works perfectly in many places. I live in a town and Beat (the radio station that always changes) works perfectly in the town, no frequency issues or anything, it's perfectly clear but it just keeps changing in my car. If I drive outside of the town I can list to Beat easily, without any interruptions, it works perfectly. I don't know what is wrong with it. It used to work perfectly until a little while ago when suddenly, any time I turned on Beat, after a few seconds it would just retune itself. Help Please

Maybe it's the design of the radio, nothing to worry about. Do you want to update more car stations or check out internetradiohoren.de which has a full range of genres for you.

SOURCE: 04 Santa Fe Issues

I would look for a ground that is inadequate.
If any part of this is operating essentially without shielding due to a bad ground, then cell towers, a radio or TV station transmitter, CBs, land mobile radio, amateur radio - any of these can inject enough signal to drive modern electronics completely bananas.
The onboard electronics used for just about everything that is remotely controlled by switches generates a ton of digital garbage and can interfere with anything.

The kind of problem you are experiencing started when we stopped using vacuum tubes 50 years ago operating at high voltages and started using semiconductors that use much lower voltages.

A tech with a common multimeter should be able to locate the missing ground connection without too much trouble.

SOURCE: 2003 Hyundai Tiburon GT radio

I had problems with my tiburon gt when I first bought it. Radio would turn on randomly. I looked around though and found rings right above the shifter where he would set his coffee in the morning because his cups wouldn't fit. I bet they would spill now and then and ruined the radio. Simply replacing it should not cause a problem but if you have the radio out get a flashlight and take a look at the wires in the back. I had a friend whos radio would not turn off even with the key out. There was a vacuum line behind his player and it rubbed on some wires in the back and caused him to have a short. Also if you have the factory sub in the back you should still have use of it with a new head unit.

SOURCE: no sound from new stereo

check the speakers in the rear deck, in the rear hatch or trunk, often the two wires that come out of the speaker touch if that happens it will short out the speaker drivers in the radio most times no permanant damage will occur. separate the wires so they do not touch,or touch the metal speker base, that may not be the problem but its a start..

SOURCE: 2004 Hyundai Tiburon radio won't work after car battery change

Hi,
Probably has a security code. It's in the owner's manual or you'll have to take it to the dealer.

AFter changing battery in my 2006 Altima the radio doesn't work

You will probably have to set up the stations again as they will all be wiped from memory when you change the battery. Manually tune the radio to the station you want. Then press and hold the button you want for that station until you hear a chirp. That station and button are done

I have a buick and while driving it it will ding and change the station and sometimes it will turn it on and off

Got to love electronics. It could be the BCM or the radio. The BCM makes the ding noise. The switching is the radio. I would replace the radio first.

Why does my hhr radio try to load and eject a cd disc when there isn't one inserted

There is an arm in/on the left side of the disc player. Most likely the spring inside it is broken. Leaving the arm in the pushed back position. Some times kids put coins in there also. This will cause things to happen, to include killing the radio and/or cd player.

Changing battery/radio code

Cycle through the various menus...I think there's a choice you have to enable to get the station info to show. The station freq should, though, like 104.5 on the fm band. Make sure you've selected a broadcast station and not aux input, for example.

I have a 1997 318i and the radio turns off every 20 or so minutes and comes back a while later and requires a code. is this a radio or fuse or connection problem ?

No...........neither, that's the wife changing the station on you.

Seriously, if it requires a code, you've lost main power to the radio, that's the only way it reports back code. got a loose wire somewhere.
