The light will not come on on the dash and it will not engage with the switch to activiate the cruise?
Really need more info...Did this happen all of a sudden..?..Do you use it often..?..Has it been worked on lately for any other reason..?What is the mileage.?..The first step would be check fuses and relays and all wiring connections..There is also a cruise switch located on the brake pedal lever near the brake light switch..This shuts it off..It is a common problem..You will need a test light to check fuses and switch...Sometimes I have seen the pedal switch get damaged by drivers foot so inspect it carefully....Send more info so I can be more of an assistant......Thank You..

It's not really hard. However, it does require a few special tools like a steering wheel puller. The MOST LIKELY cause of your problem is that the contact assembly (also called "clockspring" or "spiral cable") in your steering column is broken. The supplemental restraint system must be deactivated to prevent accidental airbag deployment. Other than this, it is just a few screws and a couple of nuts and bolts.
If you would like to take a shot at this yourself, most of the large parts outlets like AutoZone and Advance have "loaner" tools that you can use to do the job. Check with your local parts supplier to see if they have a steering wheel puller available.
Then, if you would like COMPLETE instructions (including diagrams) on how to do the job, I can supply them for you.
